Cheers Chris, really enjoyed the other 2 sets of his you posted recently, so nice one for posting this. Especially looking forward to hearing that new Digital Blonde track

I did not like this set one bit. It was some of the worst crap i've ever heard...

Posted by weymouth on Mar-16-2006 18:28:

I like the set and Ive liked John for about 4 years now but I dont think it's fair to compare a monthly radio show to a weekly radio show. To go even further, to make that monthly radio show a rebroadcast of a set from a club. Maybe it is just me but it seems extremely lazy to only have a show once a month and then just play something you recorded at a club and not even for the show.

This set is pretty hot.

i second that, too many mediocre trax in ASOT

but maybe too many ppl consider asot as just another set like the one they downloaded from a gig. I always try to think of what it really is, a radio show with the newest in ....
Looking at it that way i dont have a problem with the fact that not everything he plays pleases me.

A great radio show to me but it shouldnt be compared to his sets.

whoever said that j00f plays similar stuff that he played in 2001 couldn't be more wrong. j00f used to be great. then all of a sudden he went crap a few years ago. fucking psy! and that's a real shame because his old style is the best stuff i've ever heard and so far i haven't heard anyone play similar stuff.
j00f's "new" cd, the white label republic was one of the crappiest mix compilations i've heard. it had a few nice tracks, but in general it was very bad. i want the old j00f back, but it seems that i'm the only one.

oh shit what are you comparing with? Tiestos ISOS4, Armins ASOT2006? PvDs TPOD2? or any other half assed mix thrown together just to please the masses for the moment?
at least White Label Republic had great value since the majority of the tracks weren't released when it was released and the majority wasn't hammered to death by all djs.

oh btw. you are comparing J00F today with J00F a few years ago. But if you listen to some of his shows he actually still play some of that dark prog he used to. The general mood in this months show is dark progtrance.

only one of those i've heard is isos4. and yeah maybe i was exaggerating a bit when i say it was the worst thing i've heard in a while, but it surely was one of the worst.
cds i'm comparing it with would be:

sasha - fundacion
hernan cattaneo - renaissance masters (both)
marco v - ibiza amnesia
chris salt - fear 3
(bill hamel - balance 003
misja helsloot - forbidden paradise 11 & capital)

i realize that the ones on parenthesis are quite old, but those were the compilations i was listening to last summer anyway. a mix compilation is not good no matter how seamlessly it's mixed if it has crap tracks IMO and white label republic surely had loads of crap on it.

Thats my plan this summer..

EDIT: I'm not even gonna get into this "J00F Sucks" & "J00F Rules" arguement.. if you don't like him.. Why bother posting?

i don't think i've heard that set and i don't know all the tracks there so i can't really comment.
but what i do know is that j00f himself even said a few years ago that he's changed his style and i noticed it change too (i can't be the only one:wtf. i remember reading j00f bragging that all his dj buddies were asking him what is this new style of his, cuz no one had heard anything like it before and it was so hard or something like that. i think bk atleast was mentioned. dunno how bk hadn't heard any psy before though.
point is that j00f changed and i personally don't like it.
oh and i gotta mention that i don't have anything against psy, but i haven't really heard j00f good psy (apart from a few tracks).
