Anyhow, the condition is...

You go to the door, and request a refund...

i'm sure he'll get over it considering he now gets a 3 hour set.

i doubt they'll be giving refunds. u sure about that?

I heard from a good source that they will give refunds .

Posted by 00soups00 on Apr-16-2006 23:04:

your headliner cancels at 55 bux a pop, i think you're obliged to give refunds to ticketholders, especially to keep future possible paying customers happy. however they are lucky in that trance now all sounds the same so whether its papa playing it, or alex morph playing it, does it really matter?????

note - for all those who cannot detect sarcasm levels within emot-iconless posts here's a sign for you..

Posted by sezzy on Apr-17-2006 01:04:

ummmm yes hello???

of course it matters!

if soups was playing trance at metro and eddie haliwell was playing trance at qbh. who do you think i'd go see???

ummm sorry but have you listened to any alex morph sets recently he has been canning tracks from the new steve birch album, which has that distinctive joof sound and comparing him to papa smurf wtf?. i cannot believe you would say that given your love of marcus schulz as well.

Posted by sezzy on Apr-17-2006 05:26:

welcome to the good side of electronic music soups

i dunno if its that trance sucks, or its just that trance sucks in melbourne and has sucked in melb for ages, up until obsession i never really went to a trance night (club night) that i actually enjoyed

Posted by MiSSyM on Apr-17-2006 11:16:

lol@ this whole thread.

hahahaha

soups no one ever said that NO ONE was going to get a refund!

NO not all trance sounds the same. but i get your drift lol.
depends exactly what trance it is you actually like!
do you like the more fairy airy 'lets hug like carebears' meditate/lullably babyco trance or do you like the more uplifting-quality trance with some good not too hard bassy beats, more tech/trance or you want more hard trance or do you want trancey set mixed with a lil bit of prog or tech or whatever the fuk you wanna call it, etc!

hahahaha

but then again some people wouldnt know the difference.
ERRRRRRR hahahahahhaa

rofl Paulie hahahahhahahahhaha obviously you think trance in melb sucks because its not the more overseas armin style with vocal singing in it, etc. LOL
different strokes for different folks right! hahahahhaha

Anyways heard it was a laugh of a night!

thats a good attitude to have! its what you make of it

pfft you obviously never went to a 5am!

Posted by vman83 on Apr-17-2006 14:51:

i like hug like carebares trance

would love to see JB HI Fi open up a section named that

Posted by queen_vee on Apr-18-2006 02:44:

Uplifting Armin style trance is the worst for sounding the same!

No really, build build climax break (repeat)... just a tad like a broken (crap) record playing on a wicked soundsystem.

Prog trance is beautiful when done well, hard trance should die (except hard electro trance like zombie nation, that stuff is entirely awesome and fun) tech trance is ok if it's not too hard, but it's 99 trance that rules!

Posted by MiSSyM on Apr-18-2006 03:41:

When i think hard trance i dont think all BANG BANG UNNTZ UNNTZ i think of tracks such as these (and they aint even that HARD FFS! a lil bit harder than the melodic style with just the right amount of bass) lol
Perfect Blend - T4L
Fuel - Lambler
The World - Joop (or I think its called another world)

Im not a big fan of prog trance, would rather listen to prog house!

haha vman i like some carebear trance too ofcourse, but if im out somewhere and thats all the djs are playing i think i could handle it for first 2 hours (who knows maybe less haha) but then id want it to progress and get a little harder. thats just my personal taste!

Posted by vman83 on Apr-18-2006 08:05:

i love it all... im a true dedicated fan of all things trance

i love the 98-99 style trance, because its what moved me when i was younger, and i will never forget the feeling of a natural energetic high that trance would give me.

I think it also depends of your style of dancing as to what style of trance you listen to. I used to be very energetic and all, and so harder paced tranced would really hit that spot for me because i liked to move.

These days i tend to just feel energy make its way up my legs and escape out of my finger tips into the sky if you get what i mean... those awesome uplifting euphoric breaks in the song, when everyone starts yelling and screaming and waving their hands around... thats what i live for.

But i love it all. Right now im totally in love with that Adam Sheridan Live from the docks toronto set. I heard alot of those tracks played at Trance Nations.

Especially Sandra Flyn - rockin... i think i heard that track 3 times during the night !!! lol

My female counterpart topped it off for me, shes such a handfull. SHe got up on the main stage and started pole dancing... she likes to move, a little too much sometimes haha ! awesome night

I fail to see why so many people hate hard trance. Alot of the time it has a more melodic and uplifting feel than softer trance.
Artists like Scot Project, Bas and Ram, Kan Cold, Walt and Alphazone are responsible for some absolutely mind blowing pieces of hard trance in the past few years.

Ah... yeah... you're quite right with some of the artists you mention.

I think I confuse myself because I have a MOS Hard NRG album which I actually love - it's not pretentious, it doesn't try to be something it's not, and it's got BASS (and yes, melody) and it's FUN!

So I'm not really sure if it's hard trance or hard NRG or NRG or hard house that is relentless and gives me a headache??
(though Alphazone did it quite successfully when I saw them last year).

Don't mind a bit of SHOKK or Kai Tracid either...
