But even so, I think it's sad that we spend all this time blaming them instead of TRYING to stop all the illegal stuff from come by. I blame our side for that, I mean they complain that it's from the states, but what are we doing to stop it? NOthing. Therefore it continues.
EDIT: I CANT WRITE!

actually we spend billions a year trying to stop it.

where there is a will there is a way around it.

true they could cancel out education and health care policy and put all of the money into stopping gun violence and it would work... but then we would obviously have other problems to deal with.

I think given the resources available to them, the policing efforts are about as effective as they ought to be. Until it escallates further they are unlikely to recieve enough publicity and attention to the issue to gain more funding to become more effective. In the end it's all relative.

Hah.

As for the grass roots festivals, it's a WICKED idea however things like that have to start off small considering how TO is in terms of interest. Do smaller jams outdoors and then eventually they'd be built up to larger ones. IMO.

Hip hop comes from a wide range of countries, not just America; as does the "thug life". There's "ghetto's" in London, Paris, Prague, and a number of other world-class cities outside of North America.

as for weapons...

...then why aren't OUR border guards doing anything about it? As much as you'd like to think that it's "evil America" that's corrupting our children and sending their guns onto our streets, they're not. When coming over the border into Canada its our people that are responsible for checking whats coming over; not the Americans. But yea, it's just easier to sit back and put the blame on someone else.

LOL.. juss like how many US politicians blame Canada as a backdoor for terrorists to get in.. when it's THEIR border guards who should be stopping them from getting in ..

it's always easier to blame someone else before u blame urself

Until the day comes when there is 100 foot fence across the entire border, and every package, car, van, truck, air shipment, sea freight container of all sizes is searched for contraband, you'll never stop the guns.

Let's see, they check what 1% of all Sea Freight. In the 4 Years I've dealt with container loads of glass, I've had 3 checked out of 200.

There isn't a solution that is economically feasible.

I blame the parents, i was raised properly, beaten to within an inch of my life on various deserving ocassions. Raise the kid right, surprise surprise, they aren't shooting people cause they marked up some guys pretty shoes..

i hope thats just a figure of speech.

getting the belt every once in a while is fine, but if a kid is beaten senseless then thats just going to far. also, physical disciplining isn't necessary. a lot depends on how you talk to the kid, what you teach them, etc.

creative license... for sure not senseless. different time different methods. Definately in todays society, a different approach is required.

hahah no different than raising a pup. It can end up a respectful nice dog, or a vicious killer..

Hey all.

I would just like to give you a perspective on how things are here in Denmark.

We are also coming to the point where we are having huge problems with these thugs, mostly foreigners, who go about stabbing people in the nightlife. The guns are not here yet, well they have been noted in some secluded episodes but it is not nearly the same as in the US.

The nightlife here is fucked. There are hardly any trance/alternative music clubs around, because there is simply no market. All people want here is hip-hop and rap. I despise that sort of music, because I find it all to be quite trivial and i am quite frankly bored with hearing the same people singing about crime, people dying, selling drugs and other stuff of the sort.

The fact that the majority of the clubbers began to listen to hip-hop only, also had a huge impact on the general atmosphere. All you have to do is to look at someone, and a few seconds after you will have a knife in your stomach. The so-called thugs here are foreigners who have come to Denmark, and failed to adjust. They do not carry the sole responsibility, but there have been conducted studies which concluded that the largest percentage of youngsters in prison, are foreigners.

It's also interesting, because it seems that the world has gotten the impression that we are treating them wrong and that we aren't respecting their religion, culture and so forth. I hope that people from the outside world understands that we are doing everything in our power, but it is in some cases not enough because these people are coming from countries that have been torn by war and they are thus lacking an understanding of how a society is build. Some choose to try and learn it, others don't and those who don't are the ones who are causing the problems for the rest of us.

Luckily, it is not my intention to stay in Denmark for the rest of my life. Life is too short, and I am not happy here. The only thing keeping me here, is the education that I am in the middle of. After that, then i'm gone.

It's kinda funny to think of it because we have everything here. No one is starving, free education and so forth, but that doesn't necessarily make for the population to be happy.
