I like B Minor. There are lots of songs with good melodies in that key. Some examples:
Axwell - Feel The Vibe (Vocal mix)
M.A.N.D.Y vs. Booka Shade - Body Language
Mylo - Otto's Journey
Solu Music - Fade (Eric Kupper remix) <-- great vocal house tune

If I remember correctly, songs like Love Theme Dusk, Loco Love, Made of Sun are all in this key. The key of b-minor means that all of the tones in the key will belong to the b-minor scale. B C# D E F# G A B If you don't know music, # means "sharp", a note that is a half pitch above its nominal note. Now, let's say that a producer creates a repetitve bassline for some reason that goes: B B B B B B B B E E E F F F B B F is an "off key" note. It doesn't belong to the key and is used for the musical effect it creates. If you try to mix this with a song that has a treble melody that has an F# at the same time as the F "natural" from the first song's bassline is being played, you'll end up with a minor second interval, basically an F natural and an F# played at the same time, which is pretty much one of the most obviously terrible sounds ever to be heard if you are meaning to be mixing smoothly. |
don't waste your money on this... this program is a rip off of rapid evolution at [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
which is free and will always be free! rapid evolution does everything this program does, plus much more (runs on any operating system, detects keys from live audio input, and most importantly, includes a built in keyboard to determine keys with your own ear)
mixshare.com is dedicated to building a community where djs can share and exchange key and mix information. this software is out for your $$$...
I haven't checked out either (downloading now, thank you, both of you) but unless there are reasons for you to say this, it's not because they do partly the same things, that is a rip-off; Winamp is no Windows Media Player rip-off. Maybe the algorithm is different or something.
Obviously the mp3-compatible version is sold for , unless you are a communist, you shouldn't have a problem with that as long as people aren't forced to bye it. I think it's cool nennon offers us this trial version, even if it only works for .wav; in fact, in a couple of years, nennon might regret not doing it the other way around and asking money for the full quality format version.
Thanks, both of you, again.
