I know everyone uses it here so this is going to sound pretty stupid to most but what the hell does 'ftw' mean?

I guess another phrase now that I think about it that doesn't really make sense to me is 'what the hell?'.

I woke up thinking of 3 or 4 others but they aren't coming to mind right now.

X is the kiss
O is the hug

I would like to know what "I love lamp" means.

As of late I've been saying "That's solid". Dunno where it came from.

Or maybe they are trying to tell you the rating of their porn?

LOL Alicia, everyone says it, and I'm sitting here thinking "why does everyone love their lamps?!?!"

Hahaha!

Either way I'm winning!

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... "goodnight, sleep tight."

Here's another:

In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England, when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down."

It's where we get the phrase "mind your P's and Q's"

Another (don't stop me now I'm on a roll):

In the 1400's a law was set forth that a man was not allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have "the rule of thumb".

I sometimes make the car going fast sound as I walk past cubices and open doorways. (you know the sound that occurs when you are standing in one spot and a really fast car goes by).

Yeah I'm cool like that.
