Oranje

they should try and pry Sneijder away from Ajax, and van der Vaart from HSV, both are quality youngsters. Sneijder will be awesome in the WC

ahhhh the bias prevails

in other news I actually spoke to Vince Grella at Sydney airport today (whether anyone believes me or not doesn't bother me). He was in Aus for a few days because of family.

1-0

yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

great job by the arsenal in the morning, disappointed not to get a 2nd goal and seal the tie, we did deserve a 2nd goal at least, and thierry henry's goal in the 13th minute was not offside.

Gilberto was terrific, made riquelme look 2nd rate, and he was always going to pose the biggest problem, =but didnt even raise a yelp. Hleb again awesome, so much pace coming in from that right wing, he was always a threat today, as was robert pires, he always just has that touch of class about him that alot of other players in the epl lack, and his understanding with henry is out of this world.

Freddie had his best game for ages, Fabregas was all class once again, eboue unbelievable at right back, i dont see lauren getting his spot back now, this kid is a machine, Toure was once again superb, love how he likes to push forward, as the commentators said, you dont see it often with Centre backs, and senderos and flamini once again were solid, all in all awesome display, never really looked shaky down back, and negated the run of riquelme which will have to be done again in spain.

Maybe play 4-51 with 2 defensive midfielders infront of the back 4 zoning off on riquelme so he doesnt have the space he would like, and play henry lone striker up front with someone like pires hleb or even fabregas tucked in behind him

yep well said Paulie_C. Second goal would have been awesome, but the most important thing is that another clean sheet was kept. Riquelme was dangerous from set pieces, but other than that his distribution was poor at best and Gilberto along with Hlleb, who tracked back nicely on various occasions did an awesome job on him.

two more games Gunners, I wont sleep for a week if they win it!

BYE BYE MILAN

I think its about time Ancelotti gets rid of that antidue defence of his

Staam 34
Maldini 37
Costacurta 40
Cafu 34

did u really think a slow and aged defence like that was going to keep up withthe likes of Eto'o and Ronaldinho

Posted by RaVVaR on Apr-28-2006 03:57:

ye i know ha ?! but ey with that much experience it was always going to be a contest .. they only scored 1 goal in the 1st match .. and it wasnt Eto'o or Ronaldinho .. oh well next time

Posted by 00soups00 on Apr-28-2006 03:58:

Posted by tathi on Apr-28-2006 07:24:

yeah Sid i reckon we should get a big crew for it

Posted by feelinveryweird on Apr-28-2006 09:56:

i am no arsenal fan, far from it, but ill be cheering them on in the final. always gotta support the english teams (except liverpool of course)

its a shame that due to the hampered seasons of cole and campbell that its likely NO english players will be representing them on this milestone though. it would be a bittersweet victory for english football.

Arsene Wenger "Im loyal to Arsenal FC not the English national side"

how sweet would it be if bergkamp scores the winner in his final game, then decides to come out of retirement and leads ORANJE to the world cup final!!

absolutely, and nor would i expect a frenchman to be any different! it is the fa/uefa/fifa's problem to address, not arsene's.

talk of teams needing to have at least 5 english players in the starting squad by 2009 is well overdue. won't do much to address the imbalance in the premiership though as all the top teams will just buy the best english players from the rest, who will then have to make do with even more mediocre players than we (ahem i mean they) have now.

but back on topic, i can very much see a '1-0 to the arsenal' trademark performance and lift the trophy. bergkamp scoring would be the journalists dream but dont forget it could be henry's last game for arsenal as well

imagine Henry and Eto'o up front with Ronaldinho playing just behind

that would be unstoppable

there really hasnt been enough discussion of liverpool and the FA cup in this thread i feel.

lalalalalala!
