This weekend I participated in a church camp game in which we all stood in a circle. A person in the middle shouted a trait they had, and everyone that had that trait was to run to another spot in the circle. I screamed "I'm a DJ!!!" and noone even twitched.

I've asked probably 100 different people in the course of my highschool years "Do you know who Tisto is?" and I think around 2 people have said yes. They then followed with "Yeah! As The Rush Comes was my favorite track from him!"

thats what ive been trying to say.

Everything said in here for the most part so far, has been highly generalized. Compared to Germany/Holland/France, it is definitely lightyears behind in terms of EDM exposure. However, this is an approximation of the WHOLE of North America. Metropolitan hubs such as San Francisco/LA/Miami/NYC/Boston are as up to date about EDM as anywhere else in the world.
On the contrary, MOST Americans don't get what trance is all about.

Posted by Nayil on Apr-10-2006 07:12:

yea i agree to the above....

basically all the BS ive said is true about dallas though.

As an American, I've gotta say that this is bullshit. You just don't know how to watch it. You're used to the insta-gratification and mile-a-minute pace of most American Sports.

And now we get to the root of the problem. Americans see this as a bad thing. This is in fact the reason that the tension reaches such high points in the game. It builds over so many possessions and losses until it explodes in a single score. Americans just don't have the patience to wait that long.

What he said!

This is all bullshit. What would happen if China's favourite DJ is announced? An overall reputation of a DJ is concerned but more importantly, it is up to individuals to state their favourite genre and DJ. America loved PvD and Tiesto but I don't know if Armin has his great reputation in USA as he does in East world.

You HAVE TO throw Toronto and Montreal in that pool

i didn't know sasha and digweed are playing TRANCE/COMMERCIAL!

Posted by montana on Apr-10-2006 14:31:

i don't see why people are dogging on dj sammy. i'm not really defending the bloke but he plays the same crap that armin, pvd, tiesto and the others play. he even played the luke chable mix of terry grant's i'll kill you, and that track is signed on bedrock, i feel like i'm repeting my words but wonder what diggers feels about dj sammy playing a bedrock track.

thats because the only good way to watch a baseball game is to go to the game with atleast 2 other people and be drunk. then its fun. stadium food = win.

anyone who can watch baseball on tv has mor patience than i'll ever have though

The source might be BPM magazine

EDM in general seems to be popular cheifly in large population centers. Being a long distance away from a big city maked being an EDM fan very hard, if it weren't for napster none of us in rural areas would have ever heard any EDM aside from 2-unlimited at cheerleading competitions and shit.
