With work comes money. And with money comes our basic humane right to the pursuit of happiness. Or maybe it's love. I can't remember.

Slylee.....what are your views on legal/legit immigrants into the states then? Forgive me if you have posted this already.

i think if the US blocks off all immigrants, the mexicans drug smugglers will put some funding into terrorism and extremism agains the American Empire.

We need more Natalie Halloway coverage

jamie, about the current french riots, in most european countries an employee have protection so they can't get fired for no reason (like in america). now they are trying to pass this law through to make it so that if your under 26 you can get fired for no reason.

i thought i did? it's mostly the language barrier that bothers me...i think i said something about as long as they learn the language and get a job and pay their taxes, i don't give a shit. but i find it hard to respect anyone who has been living and working here for 15+ years and still doesn't speak any english (and doesn't care to) because they didn't have to learn it because they lived in hiahleah the whole time. hiahleah is a part of miami where you pretty much need to know spanish to get around anywhere...i mean, even the billboard signs for advertisments are in spanish

but i also admitted to thinking that i probably wouldn't be as frustrated if i was fluent in spanish.

thats because we dont want to deal with you fackin hanglish...... sti

the only thing i hate tho is when im at work and i cant understand people i work wiht becauew their engish is soooo bad. i speak two languages fluently (french and english) and i can flip back and forth mid scentance if i want to, but i dont have time to learn to speak hindi, arabic, canotnese. and for some reason half the engineers i work with at ford, cant speak fuckin english to save themselves... it really slows down my productivity because for me to comunicate with them takes 3 hours on bable fish to say good morning....

Isn't this part of what the riots in France were about? Poor foriegn workers feeling like they are getting the very short of end of the stick, partly because they weren't citizens?

Compared to most of the world becoming a citizen in the USA is easy.

Most of the people who were rioting ang burning stuff last year were of french nationality and in many cases of foreign descent ( north africa and such ). They were pissed off because some cops were chasing some thiefs or something along these lines and one of the guys died electrocuted to death when he went inside an electrical transformer. There were also issues because they felt as if they weren't accepted by the rest of society despite the fact they were french.

And the process in the Us is far from being easy nowdays. First the green card lottery, then the visa issues etc. It is far from being easy. It certainly is easier to some extent in Europe but it's totally different and it's like comparing apples and oranges. Administration can also be a pain in the arse in Europe ( more so then in the US ).

but still...what's going on with those happening now?

Riots, strikes and things of such nature are rather common occurence in France.
Right now a lot of unions are on strike to block this law from passing that would basically allow employement at will for a period of 2 years for people under 26 years old. The people who have been breaking things should NOT be associated with the rest of the strikers. They are there with the intent of breaking things and could careless about this law.
There are have been numerous cases were the people on strike were being robbed of their wallets cell phones bags etc by these thugs who come just with the intent of destroying stuff.

I have several friends who have gone through many difficult situations trying to live and work in the US and they were originally from the UK. It is indeed true that somehow things are more complicated for them.

Employement at will laws are common in most states in the US. One of the countries in the world were it's the easiest to fire someone.

An Angry Americans Perspective

I say let them come in. Yes it probably will ruin the exconomy and many peoples incomes but fuck man thats happening right now as it is.

What all of a sudden we gonna crack down, and have a "War on immigrants"
so that we dont have our mind on the real war thats going on.

Its all a fucking sham man. They created the war on drugs to take our mind off the real bullshit (oil) war.

Now we are thrown into a war we didnt actually start (sorry but it is my opinion that the terrorist attack on america began the problem.) not that the oil had anything to do with it LMAO.

So now to take the "stupid people" s' minds off of this travesty. We decide to point fingers at the immigrants. Who might i add do all the jobs that many americans truly DO NOT want to do. Because we think we're all special and shit.

It comes down to oil, and feeding the american puppets a spoon full of something not their race or style (war on drugs) to be angry about, OTHER THAN THE TRUTH! The Oil wars!

quote that shit im done sorry if its a repeat i only read like 20 of the posts.

USA is crazy enough to not even have a nation official language and then have it's citizen complain when people don't learn a certain language. LOL.

I did a search and this is in fact true. I was under the impression that English and Spanish were the official languages of US but in fact English isn't even an official language. Slylee is complaining about shit again.

Florida does have english as an official language but the city of miami is designed for the spanish in mind. i am under the impression that spanish is spoken by all service workers in miami.

I'm sorry but they didnt teach my Spanish in school here. I learned French and English.

AFAIK English is required to graduate HS, not Spanish.

Sorry buddy, if you've lived here long enough to hold a job AND frequently shop at a Target...you can learn some god damn English.

Oh man, this reminds me of the time I was in jury duty and this Korean guy tried to get out of it saying he doesn't understand English that well. The judge asked how long he's been in America, he said 14 years lol. No way you've held a job, registered to vote, got a drivers license and have been living here for 14 years and can't fully grasp the English language. The judge made him sit throughout the entire jury selection with a translator lol.

They think i'm Mexican...

You're not Mexican?

I'm either Mexican or Armenian.

Then I tell them I'm 1/4 Japanese Half French and Half English and people think I'm making it up.

Me, I just got a job a little while ago. I think work is like the opposite of good. That being bad. I mean, since I got a job I also got a whole new opinion on illegal immigrants, whereas I had none before. Basically I feel that since most of my hard earned tax dollars are keeping these people alive and fed, I should be able to do whatever I want with them. Like keep an immigrant farm in my back yard with separate pens for Mexicans, Cambodians, and the ever-elusive Estonians. Then every once in a while i'd set some free, get my shotgun, hop on my ATV, and hunt them down like the money-sucking leeches they are. The amount of time for a head start they get depends on how many food stamps they trade for it. One food stamp dollar equals five seconds head start time. Yeah i'm pretty sure work has had a bad impact on me overall.

Posted by Krypton on Apr-10-2006 22:45:

i believe all the illegals should be rounded up and deported immediatly. they broke the law, and therefore should pay the price. require all employers to document every employee and send in their information. the INS agents should make surprise visits to businesses and see to it that all their employees are documented for. make special holding camps for illegals to be deported.

i say, reform the laws, fix the bureacracy, and secure the border. build a wall or something.

its not fair that they dont pay taxes, speak the language, etc.
