omg, have you not read past that line?

There's nothing wrong with mid-card talent and I used
to love the idea down at cyber. What I meant was it'd
be nice to have a bigger headliner come in for this show ..

jeez..

He knows absolutely nothing about how the scene in Vancouver works, or how the economics of a clubnight or massive party work either.

By all means.. if he wants to keep the smart ass replies coming, I will put him in his place everytime.

Jebus! .. can we not discuss things on this forum without
someone being told to STFU or be put in his place?

Krys, if you're going to insult people, at least have the balls to stand up for what you said. This isnt the first time (and probably not the last) that you've ran your mouth about the DJs we book or how we plan our events etc. It's one thing to have a difference in opinion, and it's another to come off as an ignorrant person who clearly doesn't have any clue or facts to back up the things being said. Myabe you're not such a bad guy in real life, and somehow the things you want to say over the net just come out the wrong way? I don't know. Frankly, I have no interest in discussing this any further. Just remember when you decide to start running your mouth, I'll be here to stand up for my friends, it's as simple as that.

Which is great but, only really if you're into hard style I guess.

Wow, your ignorance is truly a beacon of light for all to behold.

Anne Savage = Hard House/Hard Dance
J00F = Trance/Psy Trance

Please put down your camera and educate yourself on the music before you make ignorant statements like this.

lol

Big names cost big money

And the Van scene is pretty shitty if you havent noticed

People will go to summer break for the party and NOT for the line up

maybe 5% of the people will actually go to see someone play but most wont

Basically, if you have no clue then you should stfu

Posted by jussed on Jun-12-2006 21:40:

Oh the T-man. I like him cuz he matches my disdain and hate for everything!

And I think everyone is being overly sensitive.

and Paranoid Jack was great @ Lotus last time.

If I submit an all trance set, you think I'd get some play? And if that can work, can someone lend me their trance records? Like Danny's treasure trove of hard dance classics

Posted by Peanut on Jun-12-2006 23:56:

Well I think u are all stoked on this lol sounds mostly good as for the Focus stage we are adding one more headliner to that and if your into breaks we have just added the AutobOts!!!!

I think he just meant hard fast music. To most people those djs have sounds which are just a little too extreme.

Correct. However, it won't matter to this guy since all he
seems to wanna do is take shots at me.

Danny, take my comments with a grain of salt and don't take
em so personally man! They're not meant to piss you or anyone
at UNION off but to simply spark debates over issues I'd like
to hear others voice about .. that is all!

/end

haha .. classic T-man response ..

It's amazing how many times I've been told to STFU on here
by numerous people, but yet, no one asked for a proposal
to a change, or an idea how to deviate from the norm and perhaps
create a path to a healthier scene ..

Youve been told to stfu because you are talk out of your ass about topics you have no clue on

There will be no better scene, this is how things are and how they have been for years and will be for years more

So then, what is your suggestion on how to reverse this
unbearable process?

or, are you so filled with negativity that you've become
comfirtable within this state of realm, and bother not to
change anything.

Posted by apri_peel on Jun-13-2006 02:51:

krys, its not about how we, the commoners, want the scene to change or what we suggest should be done. it's about the politicians of the city, the people who make the laws, the people who are in power.

Posted by jussed on Jun-13-2006 02:58:

Who's got the powaaah? PETE TONG's got tha powaaaaaaah.

a valid point, and definatelly a variable in this charade ..

however ..

you can't blame it all on laws and politics.

Dig deeper ..

Buddy, when you stop talking about things you have no grasp on, I will stop criticizing your statements. I don't 'take shots' at anybody on here. But if you're gonna spout some bullshit, expect someone here to call you on it.

consider the following factors:
- the city sets the limit on how late a club can be open
- the city sets essentially affects how expensive it is to rent a venue
- the city issues permits for afterhour events, therefore it also sets prices on those

there are other factors, but those are the main ones that prevent the scene from growing.

add to that greedy club owners, i guess cant blame either for wanting to earn an extra buck either

the reason scene in toronto is prospering so much is because clubs are promoters so its in their best interest to draw all those people. thats different here, clubs stick to strict policies and laws and like to jack up prices on stuff

so yeah, i kinda lost my train of thought somwhere, but you get the picture

Posted by jussed on Jun-13-2006 05:13:

And hey, most clubs want the most bang for their buck. Cheap hip hop, Top40 DJs + big crowd that doesn't care, buys lots of booze = ideal.
