And yeah I know most of his work is just co-productions but still. Who knows what role he played in the creation of those songs? (Him of course, but then we'll have to hope he posts here)

Though I have only heard 2 tracks by them...

Vascotia make some nifty little melodies.

Three Drives are quite good at making good melodies too in my opinion.

bah.. Thrillseekers boring ..

M.I.K.E and Laurent Veronnez are the good melody makers..

Open a midi of any composition by Mozart. One with every instrument.

Now imagine coming up with that on paper, by yourself, going only on your intuition and knowledge of music theory.

Yeah, it's snobbism for a reason; it really is *that* impressive, even if it was his hobby and lifestream.

Indeed. People must remember when discussing Mozart that whenever you look at one of his scores, you're looking at something that he held entirely in his head. Every single note. His peers spoke of his music writing style as though he were dictating. Where other composers had to write with a piano in front of them, Mozart needed only pen and ledgers.

Of course, this discussion is beside the point; Mozart was not a trance producer, he was a classical composer. Ergo, he did not create the best trance melodies.

As far as trance melodies, go, I'm going to have to say BT. Or, perhaps, Oliver Lieb.

Son Kite - Let Us Be

in structure its a typical trance song but the melody is absolutely wild and the bassline is tight. IMO its the perfect example of just all around good solid trance
