Precision was definitely at the top of my list before he quit.. now as other people mentioned it's Manuel Le Saux, he's really good too. I can barely stand listening to the big guys anymore because they don't play trance and it's clearly become all about money for them.

Good one. * Ahem: my turn--

1. M.I.K.E.
2. John "00" Fleming
3. Nicholas Bennison
4. Sander van Doorn
5. DJ Elusive (plays mostly Prog. House now though)
6. Christopher Lawrence
7. Eddie Halliwell. Man is brilliant, he's like the Zabs of trance & techno.
8. Victor Dinaire - local here in L.A. He plays variety from trance, prog, and everything else.
9. Swedish Egil - another local DJ. Plays a lot of old school tracks. By old I mean your classic rave tracks from '92-'00. So much fun to watch this guy in action.
10. GTR
11. Lange
12. Steve Helstrip
13. Solar Stone - Rich & Andy will tear you a new asshole live!
14. Orkidea - anyone forget how good this guy is?
15. Miika "The Finnish Powerhouse" Kuisma.
16. Airwave. He's dropped the traditional DJ get up and has gone to live gear and Ableton.
17. DJ Fire
18. Oliver Lieb
19. Oliver Prime
20. Marco V.

I can't think of any other names at the moment. I would have to venture into the psy realm.

R.E.F.

That idea varies from person to person although there is a generalised truth.

how recently?? I saw him on valentines day and I dont think he played a single track that didnt belong to trance or a sub genre of it...

If we're talking about a subjective opinion, not objective situation ....
For me...Marco V, Orkidea, Jose Amnesia...
Adore Dogzilla...crazy about their "Without You"..

Sander van Dooooooooooornnn

I would say Markus Schulz.

1: Everybody is copying his style (IE: ISOS 5, ASOT)
2: Plays all the biggest clubs and events now.
3: seems to be adding Electro flavoured basslines into his mixes.

I've listened to him for more than 6 years and I can say that I never heard him play anything besides trance in all its forms.
can you give any example of stuff he played?

Whoah, innovator!

Have you ever heard "Electro Hairspray"? God what a dire piece of production. He needs to stay as far away from this genre as possible.

Not to mention most unoriginal trackname ever.

If I spent a good amount of time making a track I think I'd maybe spend more than ten seconds thinking of a name.

Well like I said in previous threads, I don't keep up very much with Flemming and within the past year, I've tried very hard feel his sound but I just cannot find a reason on why I should pursue. If you ask me what he played when I saw him (Rapideye, I saw him @the docks, same night as you did. I heard about 50 mins of his set, maybe you heard the part that I didn't ), I would call it dark progressive overall, I guess maybe you could call it Trance but it could be arguable. I just found it to be very anti-climax, lacked energy and really I really felt let down considering the hype around him. But hey, that's me and I'm glad other people can enjoy him.

BTW, Adam Sheridan came on afterwards and completely destroyed me. Really cool guy and the set I am talking about is in the Live set section of TA.

well if you expected J00f to play uplifting trance then you have been mistaken yourself. he very rarely plays any uplifting stuff nowadays.
He spins dark progressive trance such as Incolumus - One with sanctuary and The Digital Blonde productions. But usually those kind of tunes takes up less than half of his sets. the rest he plays mostly full on psy trance such as Wizzy Noise, Electric Universe and Astrix.

Hmmm i heard him tail end of last year and it wasnt predominantly psy based. There WAS lots o chunky basslines. The more driving and hard part of his set was a mix of progressive and psy but i wouldnt call it "proper" psy trance. A lot more accessable and dancable than the stuf i have heard from others

thats why I wrote full on psy
its the israeli kind of psy which is more easy accessible and more melodic. kind of like the uplifting genre with in psytrance.

thats weird because the first thing my friend said was "all he played was Infected Mushroom/GMS stuff" which would imply he thought it was psy-trance. and it was mostly. I think maybe the only track that wasnt all that trancey was that last remix of Tainted Love.
but that was massive nonetheless.

I stayed for a bit of Sheridan's set. didnt impress me. but that was only the beggining of his set and I had to go (fleming finished at like 5 AM). I can see from the TL it was pretty solid.

you wouldnt happen to know if Flemings set was recorded aswell would you?

that was what I thought. people who aren't into the full on stuff thinks its not trance. this is not unique for this guy

Posted by Stunade on Apr-26-2006 23:04:

Definitely to Misja Helsloot, Christopher Lawrence and Vadim Zhukov! How about Sean Tyas and Matt Dekay?

I didn't expect him to play uplifting Trance, I never said that. But I did expect him to play something I would enjoy and he didn't. I am not the biggest fan of psy and goa, I amdit that so maybe that contributed to the reason.

RapidFire: About the set being recorded, I have no idea. If it was, then someone should post it, maybe it'll sound better at home.
