not fazed at all by the first game. oilers out played them, looked good just got hit with some bad luck. i think the oilers other 2 goalies are both capable of stepping it up in the absence of roli.

same scenario as the san jose series. but the oilers played better than in the game 3 of the sanjose series. now that markkanen won the 1st star the team has confidence in their new number 1 goalie!
if they win on monday then its On and the people that wrote them off can shove their views up their asses!!
whoever wins, it'll be in 6 or 7. even if carolina pulls ahead and wins, edmonton will win at least 1 more. if edmonton wins, it'll be in 7.
btw, conklin and marrkanen are NOT number goalies on any other team, except maybe columbus.. but their management there are dedicated to denis.. so..
edmonton won because of their better play (unlike jason smith's play in game 1) defensively. they had good strings of offensive play, but their power play stunk (both teams actually). edmonton needs to step it up offensively in game 4 if they want to win. you can't live off the hopes of marrkanen being able to stand on his head and get shut outs.
for the record, i was hoping for sabres and oil in the finals after i saw the conference final matches, and am rooting oil as they're canadian. but either team has played so well this playoff series (some are saying carolina doesn't deserve to even have made it with teams like TB, ATL, WAS and FLA in their conference).
either way this should be an alright finale, pending the players realize every little thing will be called, and smarten up, and play a good solid game.
one more thing.
why the hell are they still doing the away jerseys being used for home games in the playoffs? they did it the last playoff series as well. it's retarded. in the regular season i can lament at their use of it as a marketing strategy (home jersey 1, away jersey 1, away jersey 2, alternate jersey, etc). but if anyone watched tonight's game, people still wave the white towels, the white pom-poms, and the fans are baffled as to what colour they should be wearing. i haven't seen full fan support in terms of colours since home teams wore white (aside from the flames cinderella run of 2004, and seeing the red wall).
betman, you made the players fold, now it's your turn to get out and let someone else with a brain take over. most american's don't even know the stanley cup finals are on. i am reading newspaper articles and online rants about people in downtown los angeles calling 6 bars and none of them having the game, because no one has OLN. Not only did they give the game's rights in the states over to a network that hardly anyone can get, but they pissed off ESPN in the same swoop. good job. we have all these financial crisis, we have a strike, and with it all settled, you plan to get back what little fan base that existed in the states before by handing it off the OLN? gg.

yeah i couldnt agree more!! what were they thinking going to oln??? even if they got a worse deal they would of been better going to espn!!!!

but yeah i think that in game 4 the oilers offense will step up!! why?? because now they will feel that the 3rd defender is there for them!! they didnt have that confidence in game 2 and it showed in their play!

i remember growing up in edmonton in the 80s and watching all the stanley cup games on tv
but now that i'm older i can appreciate the crowd more. the energy of the ppl at RExall was unbelievable!
