And the only reason that Dance Mix 95 is the best one of the bunch is because it has Haddaway - What Is Love on it.

duh duh duh!

originally a TRUE HOUSEADDICT!

Adonis
No Way Back [1986]
Released: 01.01.1986

(true house record classic)

20 YEARS AGO!!!! FTW!!! I am old

other notables....

Frankie Knuckles featuring Robert Owens - Tears 1989

(this is funny!) http://www.snakemountain.co.uk/tears.htm

Raze - Break for Love 1988
A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray 1988
D-MOB - We Call It Acieed 1988
Rythim is Rythim's (Derrick May) - Strings of Life 1987
Ralphi Rosario - You Used To Hold Me 1987
Phuture - Acid Trax 1987

for me the Acid House days between 1987-1989 is what cinched this music culture/lifestyle/expressionism.....forever changing my perceptions of modern dance music and what could be - this FUTURE MUSIC as I used to call it when describing it to friends.

Acid house is a variant of house music characterized by the use of simple tone generators with tempo-controlled resonant filters. It began in the mid-1980s, when producers of house music discovered that they could create interesting sounds with the Roland TB-303 analogue bass synthesizer by tweaking the resonance and frequency cut-off dials as they played. Acid house music became a central part of the early rave scene in the U.K., and the yellow smiley became its emblem.

ACIEED!

haha, no kidding - what else, im sad to admit it, but even some vengaboys... i used to run to that, cause it was "higher energy" and had a steady beat. so many good 'ol tracks.

if we go wayback, theres even MC Sar and the real McCoy..
tracks like

Runaway, another night, one more time, space invaders, love and devotion, automatic lover.... oh god... the fun.

so embarassing

Wtf are you talking about? That was only the greatest song on the album (I loved it at the time, but *hate* it now though)

Well, I was three, and my sister had a K-Tel album with Popcorn on it, and dahum, it rocked my ass! (INXS actually came out to that at the "Suicide Blonde" album tour - ha! got to mention INXS).

Then of course, there was "boing boom tzchak" by Kraftwerk and "Pump up the Volume".

Danny Tenaglia's Global Underground 1 was my intro to the "rave" scene, tho.
