Obviously dont make it completely inaudible, but mess with it enough to make people really think.

I dunno if thats already been suggested, if it has, oops.

People complain enough about the contests being too hard as it is. Look at the ruckus that occurred in the last few contests. I doubt doing any of the suggested things will improve on that.

Whenever the status quo has me down I delegate

I vote that someone starts an "ID Contest Improvement Committee"

and I nominate that someone to be Sand Leaper

It'll work just like when Coup tried to improve the way we vote for best track of the year only with a lot more consensus!

See now if I did a competition it would be the best one ever, but thanks to politics and certain people not accepting bribes or threats this wont happen

There are a lot of 80's tunes I am trying to identify.....

Yeah, looks extremely likely when looking at the score sheet

I'm just not going to bother anymore.

Oh come on. You know as well as I do that people like to hold off with their IDs until there is like 10 minutes left before the deadline. And when Haak beat me last time, he caught up a lot more points than what say, Mikey has to in order to beat me.

Yes, but the fact that the same 3 people win this comp over and over again really makes me wonder why I even bother anymore.

Way to exaggerate. I do agree that the contest needs new competitors though.

Posted by THE_Chris on May-20-2006 15:52:

Heh needs some of the better people to step down I reckon

Who has the list of everyone thats won it by the way?

Maybe the winners should start using "a little better known" tunes, or we could enforce a rule saying if you won within the last 3 contests, you could still participate, but had to pass on the next contest to a person finishing in, say top 5!

Thoughts?

We've been there and done that regarding the "a little better known tunes"-aspect. In short, what is "a little better known" to some isn't necessarily gonna be " a little better known" to others.

And I have never ever won 3 contests in a row. I don't think anyone has.

Posted by Haak on May-20-2006 16:24:

it's not about winning anyway though. it's all about the fun and discovering new tunes. it is fun to win though

He said within, not in a row.

Ah, my bad. In that case, that seems a bit unfair. Not everyone wins as much as others, so why should they have to be punished just cos others win a lot?
