Pages (4): « 1 2 [3] 4 »
Right here is one of Scott's earlier productions which I thought I'd share with you. It was on his first ever essential mix and also on the very first Gatecrasher Black compilation and entitled "Scott Bond presents QDos - I'm Not Going Home (Gatecrasher Vocal Mix)", enjoy

So.......
TUNES!
A bit disappointing with the turnout, but it didn't stop me enjoying myself.
yeah saw a few pics and there didnt look like many people. shame. but thursday nights have been tough in adelaide for a long time now!
twas a good night. Yeah the crowd was a little low but it wasn't too bad considering it was a thursday, Scot Bond itsn't a huge name anymore and I think the Warp Brothers were playing at Earth. So all things considered not too bad.
Solace was good as usual, but I tell ya what I'm sick of hearing Whiteroom. But thats just me.
Was a very very nice set by Bond, The last 15 mins the wheels fell off due to the CDJs (or something) fucking up and cutting the sound. Recognised a few tunes, in general it was pretty high quality, nice and driving yet still meldodic and a few moments of uplifting.
Can't wait for the recording to come out.
Might be several new vinyls coming my way once I work out tracklist
Thumbs up the the guy in the Chile 88 shirt. He pioneered the dance which I now refer to as the "blow up man dance". His moves were just like one of those giant air filled sausage men with the fan below them you see flailing around outside shops. Provided many laughs.
thumbs down to the promo chick giving me an almighty shove from behind to get my attention.
A little less violent and people may be more receptive to what you have to say.
Arg..... yeah about the set..
I have like the first 10 minutes or so, after that the batteries run flat or it turned off or something.... I'm sorry
Please forgive me!!!
But I'll ask solace if scott bond can give us a list of songs that he played, I know his third song in was zirens - edge of space (whiteroom mix)
As for the jump the next train intro, haha, it was played twice that night, some uneducated friends of mine said they liked it...
Anyways my deepest regrets about the set, I will post up the little snippet I have and will find a way of making it up to you

What happened??
It was all working out okay,
We recorded a bit of my set and Mal Chia's set and then when scott bond came I replaced the batteries JUST before solace finished playing. I left it recording and checked on it again when scott bond started playing and it all seemed ok, the bars on the battery were full.
Then I got a bit carried away with what scott bond was doing behind the decks, he was using the effects the best I'd seen especially with trance. I learnt one or two things from him. Then I got caught up in the music he was playing
After I went to look back at it around 3am it had turned off. I had no idea why, the batteries were replaced etc.. I checked how long it had recorded for and the file was only 20 minutes long!!!
Never again will I trust someone else's mp3 player, it was hard work just getting one to burrow so I think i'll have to buy one if I'm going to start recording sets when internationals come to Adelaide..
Once again my deepest apologies
and I'll make sure the next recording that happens at Echo will go smoothly
ah, these things happen. Just bad luck.
And only need to explain yourself once
Arg... Yeah Tranceaddict wasn't loading properly when I was trying to reply, been a big couple of days
It's cool that you learnt a few mixing techiques from the guy Cetra, maybe I may hear a Scott Bond influence in some of yer mixes in future
Speaking of which you don't happen to have a tracklist of what he played do you?
well cetra its the thought that counts!! it didnt work out but shit happends!!
on the other hand ive noticed youve put your heart into helping make this event happen and thats all that matters!
Ah yes, I want to put trance back on the map in adelaide, it's so big everywhere else it just needs proper promotion over here.
Daisuke, I'm working on getting a tracklist
i know it sucks that trance took a big fall in adelaide. here in the winnipeg scene all the big non-commercial rave/club nights are trance dominated then the other styles back trance up. so its the complete opposite to back home.
just recently had armin,gtr,judge jules
....in 2 nights!!! FERRY CORSTEN!!! fuck im pumped!!

Sorry to not reply till now. Its been a massive weekend with Scott. He is an absolute legend of a bloke, massive respect for him. yeah numbers were a bit down, although we still had 300 through the door, so not so bad for a thursday night. No idea what happened with the cdj1000s. Could have been Scotts cds, i didnt have any problems myself, so who knows. As for what Scott played i doubt he would remember. I played the intro mix of jump the next train into whiteroom as my opener, Scott was in the front room judging some silly comp, so didnt hear what i started with. When i told him i played that when he dropped it he laughed his asse off. Guys its about fun, dont be so serious about what gets played. Scott was awesome, with plenty of new tunes, and as Cetra said, he is a genious with the effects.
All in all was a top night.
oh no, I love the music and had plenty of fun.
I don't care that the trcak was played twice in a night, its happened before and sure as hell will happen again. But I'm just sick of Whiteroom. Truth be told I never thought it was the massive tune many did in the first place. If it destroys rooms or whatever yay, play it. If other people enjoy it (which I know they do) play it, after all thats the job of the dj. But its just a personal opinion, which last time i checked I am allowed to have. When I hear it I don't cause a fuss, I don't do anything to ruin other peoples fun, I don't walk off the floor, I don't boo, so I don't see why I'm not allowed to have my opinion.
It doesn't reduce my fun at all and I don't think less of djs, sets nor nights when they play it. If you heard a track you have heard a million times before and never really liked you'd be saying the same thing, yes? I think you're being a little precious about it.
Actually wasnt necessarily refering to your whiteroom comment, as its your opinion and not one i dont agree with. Was more a general comment re other peoploe and other comments on several forums. Alls good. Was a pretty cool night im sure everyone will agree.
glad all worked out well solace
I'm curious to know what you guys 'picked up' from watching him. ie what tricks are you refering too? I heard HEAPS of flanging - seemed like just about every track.
Way more than flanging my friend. reverbing, delaying, fazeing and all sorts of eq effects. He is very good with that 600
I saw him do some crazy things with the 2x Copy, he cut the bass and boosted it up and he pretty much made it sound like a buildup where there wouldn't be one, apart from that he was crazy with the EQ's that added just that little variation to make the song he was playing more colourful.
haha, here's a picture of me (in black) staring at his handiwork with a look of appreciation
