So glad I don't need to wait another year to see him. I can't freaking wait! Can this weekend get here already, dammit |
I hope to make it out to this as well. I have yet to see Holden in TO, so I see no better time to pop my Holden cherry lol
James Holden has been laying down he's Genious self since early/late 2001.. I remeber he's stuff from back then and I already predicted him to be an up and coming. He was what.. 18 years old or something??.. The guy produced the finest progressive trance in that time.. Still remember. Never had the chance to see him though because of my age restrictions.. but this year I finally saw him once .. but the live sets that I have of him and the CD that I own ( BALANCE ).. speaks more then what Im writing.

He has a signature sound. PERIOD. Now matter how many times he's been down here he's good because of that craziness.
I effing loved when I saw him @ Ultra 2004. He is like the nob master too, he adds these sounds that are wicked.
I like his old trance sound too but nothing like that dark prog.
Horizons was #1 at that time of course!
so i was supposed to leave yesterday but i changed my airplane ticket so maybe i'll get to meet some of you TAs. IM definitely going!

| Originally posted by LiquidX Indeed. It was the era of the progressive movement, Progressive Trance signature at its best. Horizons quickly became one of my favorites.. I remember Tiesto Caning and Opening with that tune. Eitherway.. your right, as longest the music and sound its good.. Its a GO. Its just nice to see a DJ who everyone knew that he would sometime be a star and at the time an "under-rated " back in 99-00 and now he's getting the deserved recognition. The latest interview in Resident Advisor gives a well round perspective of Holden for sure. I found this particular comment quite funny " Minimal has no meaning. It's progressive with a few new plug-ins! Especially now you get these minimal geeks who think they are really cool because they like this ketamine music" lol http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.asp?ID=7866 |

| Originally posted by RzO and he speaks the truth, the whole deal is to create new shit and not be stuck in this or that or what was this house or that techno, ffs, make music that sounds good and gets people off, isnt that the point anyway, its like legal dope! in jh case he has always moved in a different direction, why i always thought he was amazing...and neil make ur way out to the pawn shop on friday even if its for a little, also give it a chance as it wont get peak time for quite awhile and i can understand energy lovers not digging the sound, but to hear his buildups when they do come although not as often as u may like, the floor is completely swept up in a frenzy, i went to alot of parties over wmc and although many others i may have had more fun, his was like an education, as it is every time ive seen him, if that makes any sense...so u and ryan should make ur way over...glad to see alot of u will be going, ambs u were getting crazy with us at rrr with nico, so i know u will be amped! kel and i couldnt believe when we heard about this last month but i didnt want to say anything till i saw flyers...see u all there... and just wait till he drops his signature tune of the moment, this is for the trancers.....blackstrobe-nazitrancefuckoff!! (holden rmx), fucking 12 mins of mindblowing jawdropping clicks and beeps, with a few booms, he played it all over wmc, and i will be going nuts when it plays!!! |
