SoM is japanese 'seiken densetsu 2' - japanese 'seiken densetsu 3' never got officially released or else it would have been SoM2... Evermore happened instead (or not instead as per wiki?)

get the fan translation, it's fairly well done

bring it on.

ps, check out your records versus these people [i was able to beat a bit of them]:

http://www.themushroomkingdom.net/smk_records.shtml

some were pretty hard to beat - but if you're good enough, then you can.

Ok; this is a call to all the Super-Nintendofreaks out there

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this little problem. I'm looking for the name of a SNES game I played when I was about 8yo (yeah; I was born in '87 you know).
It was a game about Mickey Mouse. It made a very good impression on me back then, it was a game I rented for 3 days; and yet it always stayed in my memory.
I think you were able to use magic spells; also to perform some transformations, and if I recall correctly there was also a blue flying carpet involved. However I'm not sure about all of this.
Can anyone remember a game that more or less fits to this description ? I searched for several Mickey Mouse Roms but I didn't find the one I meant .

I really would like to see that game once again; because I always kept thinking about it... I dunno why. Sadly enough I never remembered the title...

I am glad to see that there are still some SMK-addicts around.

It might be this one... But I'm not sure; will need to check that.

I don't know about that second title (didnt find anything about it); but it's definately not that first title you're mentioning.

If there are some others who played Mickey Mouse (or Disney games) that might fit my description, don't hesitate to answer

This game has you transforming into various characters (firefighter, wizard, etc...). It also has a flying carpet in it.

My favorite two Disney games would have to be this one and Castle of Illusion (Sega Genesis).

Unfortunately my controller is broken. It will take me some time to find a new one.

When i find one I will finish the Super Mario Brothers game (i have never finsihed it) and then back to the classic SMK .

I have played the first two on the list. EVO was really unique for its time - The equivalent of the upcoming SPORE, I'd say. Enjoyed playing it tremendously. As for Goof Troop, the fusion of action and strategy along with a unique main item really works together to make the gaming experience a new one. I didn't finish the game, though, since I didn't have the drive to go back to certain scenarios after getting stuck. I should probably give it another try, though.

As for the last three, I downloaded them and will thoroughly enjoy them.

EVO was good but i never finished it. I just coudnt get past one point in the game no matter what i tried. I think i would have to evolve into a bird to beat that part but i could never figure out how.

Great concept though.

It ends off fairly well. You can either become a human or a merman.

Then again, you can stay a reptile or other mammal, of course.

Pick it up again. I'm sure you'll be able to get much farther.

By the way, the last boss took like... FOREVER for me to beat as a human. Ugh.

Lol yeah... Totally forgot about that one... Haha; this thread brings back so many memories; thanks for creating it

Will check goof troop again. I did complete it; I played it with my brother... Man that was fun; I loved that green harpoon

In no particular order:

Final Fantasy II & III (Yes you nerds IV & VI)

Chrono Trigger

Secret Of Mana

Secret Of Evermore

Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals (Can't believe no one has said this one yet!)

Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Super Metroid

Breath Of Fire I & II

F-Zero

Super Mario World

Mario Kart

(I'm sure there's more that I'll remember as this thread progresses).

Anyone notice how much Nintendo and Squaresoft owned that system? Such classy games from both companies. Sure, there were some hits as well from Capcom, but more or less it seemed like those two really were in there hayday during that systems life.

i never really played a whole heap of games on my snes, in fact i never actually bought any, only hired them and it came shipped with the super mario bros games. they were very expensive here back then, even compared to prices now. when super return of the jedi came out it was $130! i used to love nba jam, street fighter, mario kart, cricket, donkey kong, empire strikes back never played any of the rpg games, i wouldn't have been interested then.
