The next sound:
the "demonic lead" sound, Psy compatible. Also should work as short stab.

mp3 preview:

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...A788C3262AD609B

The first version features the highpass filtered version, the second one has a bandpass filter.

Again I used FM synthesis to create the sound. I chose the "digital" waveforms and played around with combining these waves a little. Again, its important to remove the "track" button on the first oscillator - that way it will only modulate the frequency of the second one and not play itself.
I also used a white noise at low level to back this one up a little.
The two presets are very similar to each other, the only difference makes the filter.

I call this the "Fluttering Dove"

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

Used Vanguard again, 3 FM waves, used the X Filter, then used a but load of effects.

I bet you guys can do a better job on this effect. Im just exploring the effects world

Im gonna post a couple more Virus patches this weekend - work is getting a bit crazy at the moment and I havent had the chance to type up some more sounds.

I'm loving that demonic lead sound. Think Im gonna have to build some albino patches now ^_______^

Well, I like what has become of this thread. Maybe we should get the link into the stickies. Just don't let it die folks ;P

"Holy Water":

This is a nifty trick for an FX. Use any patch you want, or any sound you want, but make sure it fills the freq spectrum pretty well. The super stack patch in zeta+ is excellent for this.

Now, what you want to do is set up a paramretic EQ. I use FL, so I'll use the fruity parametric EQ.

What you want to so is to automate several LFO's, with different shapes and speeds, to change the freq of several Notch Filters, with a varied amount of Q to them. Just do this randomly I say.

Then, to get a "phase-shifting" FX, you could also automate the volume knob on the synth.

Also, to get the particualar FX that I'll post, add delay, reverb, chorus and a phaser. Also a stereo enhancer. And a high pass filter...

This way you'll get something like this:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2967/Holy%20Water.mp3

I use it in my newest tune, Mountain Bridges:

Hope you enjoy...

In college recently we have been learning about electroacoustic music...

quote:
The term electro-acoustic refers to a process that happens in any microphone or loudspeaker - sound is transformed into electrical signals, and then transformed from electrical form back to sound. This process is central to all electronic music, because it turns sound into something that can be shaped using electronics and computers

Electro-acoustic grew out of the pioneering work of experimental electronic musicians of the 1940's and 1950's, such as Pierre Schaeffer. Shaeffer created Musique Concrte, a style of music that anticipated the later rise of sampling. Schaeffer was interested in the idea of manipulating sound as a tangible object. He took tape recorded sounds of real life objects and created a huge variety of effects through splicing, speed changes, looping and reversing them.

the whole subject is REALLY interesting, even more so if your an EDM producer.

the whole time i was listening to samples of this sort of music i was thinking to myself "this would come in reeallllly handy for some wicked FX" so i took some of the basic principals of electroacoustic music and make a couple of sound FX:

This one was made by recording my desk fan (its freaking hot over here!) running it through some filters and some crazy LFO's it basically sounds like white noise

http://xinthetic.sitesled.com/whhiiiiirrrrrr.mp3

and here are some examples of actual electroacoustic music:

Draw out sounds:
Made by recording lots of small samples from around the house and time stretching them over ridiculous amounts of time. link is here:

http://xinthetic.sitesled.com/drawn%20out%20sounds.mp3

Hop heads and icepicks:
Made by a similar method to the above:

http://xinthetic.sitesled.com/icepicks.mp3

Cool stuff huh? its really easy to see how you could use some of these ideas and incorporate them into FX and trance music.

Some cool effects

Take synth send it to a output of a guitar cab then remic it and record it..You get some awesome distorted stuff.

You could lower the low freqs a tad. And probably some delay.

Other than that, cool. I like it when the snare roll comes in, it really adds to it.

Ive still got some more sounds to upload but I am in the process of moving all my stuff to my new PC (my SN21G5 has arrived a few days ago! yay!)

Give us a couple more days and my Virus B will be back in business

I'm visiting my family - yep, my hollidays - so I'm not in my studio: I only have an old & slow AMD DURON (running FLStudio+Discovery+Albino)and crappy headphones.

But I made some patches, you can get here:
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

******* USE MOD WHEEL *******

I'll keep on making the complete bank (64 patches)

Nyagara Discovery demo bank:
ARP:
Nyagara__Atarigame__Arp.fxp
Nyagara__Pluggy__arp.fxp
Nyagara__PluqFlunk__arp.fxp
LEAD:
Nyagara__Astroboy__lead.fxp
Nyagara__Eternal_Sunshine__lead.fxp
Nyagara__Greenland__lead.fxp
Slider:
Nyagara__Shmatio_Rocks__slider.fxp
Nyagara__Sync-Choruslette__slider.fxp

I know this thread is about effects, but I would like to stick it, and I really used a lot of built-in phaser/chorus effects on these patches.

I was trying some fx chain to sound like Infected Mushroom, and put the first synth I had on the top (Sytrus on FLStudio). My experiment wasn't about Sytrus, but I found it is really amazing for something fresh and new.

Some demos here...

1.Sytrus Phaser Bassline303
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

The fx chain used was:
0.Sytrus->
1.TC Works Sonic Destructor (with bandpass,squeezer,bitter - 24 bits and zero aliasing)->
2.MobilOhm->
3.MobilOhm->
4.Fruity Phaser->
5.Fruity Reeverb2->
6.TC Works Limiter->out

2 MobilOhms in series increase the phaser effect (depends on your programming, of course), giving something organic and acid.

Suggestions:
1.Use a little bit reverb, not very much.
2.Get a "3o3ish patch" from Sytrus and tweak
around. Use 2 bandpass filters on Sytrus with a lot of resonance.
3."Heavy Maximising" patch from TC Works Limiter works pretty fine!

2.Sytrus Phaser Lead
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

0.Sytrus->
1.TC Works Sonic Destructor (with bandpass,squeezer,bitter - 24 bits and zero aliasing)->
2.MobilOhm->
3.Fruity Phaser->
4.Fruity Reeverb2->
5.TC Works Limiter->out

Suggestions for future experimentations:
1. Use other Phaser/Reverb plug-ins
2. Automatize some parameters from MobilOhm and Phaser plug-in on your host sequencer. For example, if you like those lovely organic (phaser) leads from IM, automatize the phaser and cutoff frequency (from Sytrus's filter) together, that would make the "Sytrus Phaser Lead" more exciting!
3. Use TC Works Spark FXMachine for making a more complex fx chain using parallel/series bandpass filters.

If you like or not, let me know. The replies are important for me!
And, do you use this lovely synth a lot?

Thanks ;-D
