yeah...thats what made bryan singer so good...not to say brett ratner didnt do a great job, but it didnt have the emotional depth...

but i guess it's all for naught for pvdobsession, since he wanted more action but less action...

rofl!! okay, enough of this debate..ahah it was an ACTION movie, thats it. lol what was it then, if it wasn't ACTION?! (altho side note: Halle Berry is def NOT looking as GOOD as she used to be. They should have tried to get better camera angles of her)

yes i agree, bryan singer is def an awesome director...hmm what else has he done? Wait -- he was involved with the Usual Suspects right (directing/screenplay)? or no? and why didnt he do Xmen this time...was it cuz he took on Superman Returns? <-- man WATCH this be the BLOCKBUSTER of the SUMMER! well we can hope. heeh

yes, singer took the superman returns project. its previous director bailed or something. Singer took the writers of the previous x-men movies with him as well.

so MI3? good action movie as well haha

YEAH what IS all the hype all about? I gotta check this out...well Samuel L Jackson would def be one big reason to watch this, he makes movies like this WORK! for some reason the title is evoking memories of EIGHTLEGGED FREAKS...spiders looked FAKE but still CREEPY as fuck...imagine seeing spiders with legs THAT thick :gross:

and also...werewolf + british film = almost guaranteed cult status as well as films with other types of supernatural creatures...Shaun of the Dead, anyone?

hmm haven't watched that yet...I don't want SPOIILERS though since i *might* watch it...any OPINIONS on the film? action yes...is there enough of a story though for me to CARE (thats more the question)

*Tom Cruise* -- blahh as of late...altho i watched WAR of the WORLDS on Demand recently and actually that film wasn't half bad, it was better than I thought it would be

and sorry that we r not all cool like u

Posted by Vikingus on May-31-2006 20:21:

woah... that is some cool info about Blade Runner, the movie used to freak me out like hell when I was younger, now I'm glad I've never bought a DVD

Pirates def. gonna be a great movie can't wait for this one...
Am I the only one not really carring about Superman? the first trailer wasn't really all that and the one attached to X3 had some nice special effects but I was like meh.. we'll see, I'll prolly see it at the end anyway.

Overall there isn't really too many movies to look forward to this year...

Actually a friend of mine was the media director for Pirates (I think pheonix and langazn knows her too). It was shot in Nassau, she was lucky enough to get to stay at Atlantis....yea I hated on her for that lol....

Thumbs up

Future Release: THE FOUNTAIN (out October 13)
directed by darren aronofsky

THE FOUNTAIN is about love and death and the nature of this frail and precious matter we are made of. It is an epic that is concerned only with the personal impact of its incredible events. It is not about saving the world, but it is about how we will all eventually be saved. Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world

When asked about the film Darren said, "It's a post-Matrix, metaphysical Sci-Fi movie, and it's very different to anything you've seen. I call it post-Matrix because Matrix reinvented sci-fi in the same way Star Wars did, or 2001. I'm in a new environment, I'm trying to figure out what type of film would play to an audience now, and I think we came up with something really cool."

was a big fan of "Pi" and "Requiem for a Dream", this looks very promising

i like most of the things that kubrick has put out, with the exception of this film...dunno whether it was because kubrick passed away before completing the necessary edits/cuts (quite a few of the explicit scenes were chopped up, tho i dunno if that woulda made much of a difference), or cause it was just difficult subject material...anyway, IMO it just seemed like a film that was tryin to be controversial and present taboo matter for the sake of inciting a reaction from the audience...ive watched it a few times and it just seems heavy handed and morose and I just couldnt connect with any character, much less the situation that they find themselves in...basically it just didnt stick with me like Dr. Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket or Clockwork Orange did
