I agree on them and yes, I know about them, but making them so early in the game is lame. There was no delay of the game in the first half

i got around to watching the USA - Ghana match and i didnt agree with Essein's yellow card. it looked like him and reyna were going for the ball. also the penalty kick was a joke.

the comentators here say the refereeing has been much better than in 2002 but i've got to disagree. these last few days have been a complete joke, and here is yet another game that proves it.

I think it's a fucking joke that they get the chance to decide a game. It's horrible

Graham Poll's show yesterday was the lowest point of the competition, but today alone we had 4 serious mistakes:
- wrongly awarded penalty kick to Ukraine
- wrongly non-awarded penalty kick to Tunisia
- wrongly disallowed goal to France
- wrongly allowed goal to Switzerland

Things need to improve for the knockout stage. IMO given the excellent lineup of games, refereeing is the biggest threat to the quality of the competition.

Allowing the second Switzerland goal was definitely the right decision. The linesman (erroneously) raising his flag doesn't signal the end of the play. The referee saw that the linesman had made a mistake so he let play continue, and then Frei scored.

he ref'd the brasil - japan game and did a great job of not fucking up the flow. i watched most of the game and saw nothing suspicious from him. too bad fifa is just gonna let him off when they see he's not blowing enough whistles or giving enough cards.
