What do you think?

hmm... i think it varies in individual's tastes

for me i would say mike or markus schulz

Posted by AndreaCKY772 on Jun-20-2006 21:19:

wait... well now i can't decide with

mike
markus schulz
ferry corsten

i think ferry corsten has made a better impact, but i'm still not sure who...

other than his remix of Telepopmusik's Breathe I dont think Ive heard a single production of his thats any good. :/

Posted by GUBostonDubs on Jun-20-2006 21:45:

The best track that Markus Schulz was involved with imo is one that alot of people don't even know he was involved with on here hahaha.

Jayn Hanna - Lost Without You (Edge Factor Dub)

Posted by Numidia on Jun-20-2006 21:45:

It's a toss up between Ferry Corsten and M.I.K.E.

out of curiousity did you chose Markus because of his old pre 2000 productions or just his new?

I strongly recommend you too check out his pre-2000 stuff. Especially his Edge Factor stuff. Much better and trancier than his current stuff.

+1

I'll add Brian Eno to the list for 'electronic music overall'

thank you for informing me about this...if you say it is much better and trancier then i'm sure i should like it a lot!

My favourite producers would be as follows however I do think the top two are very much so at the top of this list.

Airwave (Fire & Ice, Planisphere etc)
Mike (Push & Plastic Boy etc)

Ferry Corsten
Armin Van Buuren
Fred Baker
Tiesto
Andy Moor
DJ Taucher
DJ Sakin
Solar Stone
Riley and Durrant
Sander Van Doorn
Thrillseekers
Lange
Pulser

To be honest I could go on all night..

i would agree oliver lieb is great but picotto started in the mid to late 80s under the wing of top italo disco producers. HE continued to revolutionize both Euro house, progressive eurodance and Unique trance style that would be foundational for alot of modern day abstract techno.

Just looking at trance picotto's done a significant amount

bakerloo symphony
lizard
iguana
ultimora ibiza
komodo
proximus
like this like that (although similar to blue fear this one was much more exciting)

more abstract trance under megamind

verdi
back to cali
pegasus
baguette

just to name a few

this is trance.. but ifyou look at techno this man is a genius. and eurodance.. thats a whole other ball park

This is a lot of hyperbole without much basis in reality.

That's hardly a suitably sized list to award a "greatest ever" award to the man, especially as a couple of those tracks are horrific.

Most of that is techno.

Picotto is a great producer, but nowhere near the best trance producer and never has been.
