lol. look, even if those assumptions youre making were true, it doesnt matter if your team is shit. france suck even more than england.

i think a spain v argentina would be good if england dont make it.

ahhhh the sweet taste of victory! go zidane, ribery, trezeguet, barthez, henry! take it to the finals boys!

id also like to add that no one listened to me when I said spain were shit. they bearly got through quals and ever since then had very easy teams as competeition. this is justice in every sense of the word. WHOO!

this is just not interesting, only 2 of the remaining 8 have NOT won the world cup and both are not likely to advance that far, i was looking for at least spain to be a distant shot...

it's precisely why it is interesting - i've never seen such a battle of the titans. you get upsets every year, we got Greece as a winning upset in the last euro, for a change you get all the big squads facing each other. and i'm optimistic as for my national team, even if in theory perhaps only Ukraine is weaker now.

that being said the 1/8 finals overall were quite shitty. yet still the better games were when 2 strong sides faced each other (Spain-France, Portugal-Holland and Argentina-Mexico - i consider Mexico to be fairly strong).

obviously i won't repeat it but won't retract it either... they WERE playing shit, at the time of me writing that message, and spain SHOULDn't have underestimated them because of it. as it stands, they improved & deserved to win that match

Posted by Unique2701 on Jun-27-2006 22:39:

Germany - Brazil would be a nice match
But i don't want Germany to be in the finals actually.

germany will get kicked in the arse on 30th

I haven't seen much of the German matches, but i'm not really impressed by Argentina's play actually.

Posted by FCB_Fanatic on Jun-27-2006 23:42:

it would have been Argentina - Spain

but now I don't have a clue, Argentina against the best team on the other side of the table (wathever country that may be) with Argentina as the winner

Posted by luisjb82 on Jun-27-2006 23:47:

After Italy's fake diving...

I expect England vs whoever wins between Germany and Argentina.

euros are another story.

point is this 90 final "West" Germany-Argentina, 94 final Italy-Brazil, 98 final France-Brazil, 02 final Germany-Brazil (these are all the finals i've been able to watch and remember), 06 final combination of those ... boooooring, 98 was a bit exciting cuz of France but now they're a part of that "arsenal", Ukraine vs. Portugal would be a sweet unexpected final this year.

Italy vs England

My both favorate teams...

But I highly doubt that they reach the final.

more likely it's gonna be Germany - Brazil . ANd let's face it Germany has the most chance of getting the cup this time.

I had an Italy-England final down with my BBC predictor thing!

And Brazil are always the favourites, no matter what.

Sorry but Ukraine are even more boring, totally dull team (except for Shevchenko, maybe Kalninchenko and Milevskiy who doesn't get to play). That's why I ideally want an Argentina-Portugal, we'd get all the huge matches in the quarters and semis, and then a brand new exciting final between two flairy technical sides

Posted by loconet on Jun-29-2006 19:23:

A final that would be pretty "intense" would be .. Argentina vs England

i had brazil-italy with england, argentina, brazil and italy in the semis

Germany - France

or

Germany - Portugal

Posted by noikeee on Jun-30-2006 18:45:

i guess now i want Italy-Portugal.. which would still be a bit shit, since every single game i remember between these teams we got our asses kicked badly
