i'm really bad at being a girl.
i'd rather spend $40 on Beatport purchases than on a bottle of perfume.
i'm also completely indifferent when it comes to dudes colognes... as long as they don't smell like an old man or like they poured the entire bottle on themselves, i really don't care.

| Originally posted by Orbax Ive mentioned it before but they did a huge study where they found that natural scents are how we identify with one another. They would have guys where a white teeshirt at night and then girls would go through like 40 shirts and make piles of what the scents were. In the end they found out its allllll about immune systems. In labs, rat with the most opposite immune systems invariably mated producing more resistant offspring (good idea if you ask me). In humans, the natural scent we identify with carries a specific chemical that is basically an encoded "Heres what my immune system is". In this study women made 2 piles: Ones they were comfortable with but wouldnt date, and ones that they were attracted to (Usually accompanied by claims that their previous boyfriend/love had had that smell). The ones that they were ok with usually matched up with their father's scent/had similar immune system patterns. THe ones that were attractive to them had very different. In the end the found that shampoos, soaps, deodorants, conditioners, colognes, too long of showers, too frequent of showers, and too hot of showers all lowered the output of these scents. Also, when youre on birth control your likes switch because it thinks youre pregnant. A statistically significant number of women claim lessened attractiveness to partner after switching whether oro not they are on birth control. @@ |
and yea i misspelled it, i was sounding it out and trying to get all italian on everyone with the cc instead of ch...haha
and ladies, if you havent smelled this scent yet, you must!! this is by far the best perfume i've ever bought and even though i usually have about 4 or 5 different ones, i like to have that "one" that defines me that i'll always stick with, and i've chosen this one as that.
it's a combo of fresh and clean mixed with a tad bit sweet n spicy.
i was in the mood to splurge on a nice perfume like 2 years ago and i was describing to the salesman what sort of scents i liked and he ran and got this one and i was sold!

ediple = oedipus? The main point was that similiar DNA/Immune Systems is not attractive to us. That chemical just makes them feel like a "brother" or just family due to the similarities.
Im trying to think of a way of getting multiple pheremone signatures that doesnt involve something really disturbing

| Originally posted by Slylee I?m actually reading a great book called ?The Truth About Love? and it touches on that subject. It says that our bodies actually know (and seek out) compatible mating partners by chosing DNA that we are most attracted to, which is usually the opposite of ours. And the whole thing about fathers and daughters and mothers and sons goes back to Psychology 101 where they talked about the electra and ediple complex which states that our first loves are our mother (for guys) and father (for girls) as babies/children and so we tend to seek out the same qualities in our partners that are present in our mother or father. oh and miki, this is what he wears....it's seriously amazing and yea i misspelled it, i was sounding it out and trying to get all italian on everyone with the cc instead of ch...haha![]() best cologne hands down... |

For girls that want to shell out $200 on a very nice bottle of perfume. It's all natural so you can even spray it on your hair etc..and smells great. Chinatown is nice, i reently got Scent of Peace for my GF and it smells like heaven. The other one i liked was Fashion Street. They're all named after streets in NYC.
chinatown bottle

There's also some for guys and some unisex ones.
