How wrong you are.

Posted by Slylee on Jun-28-2006 15:58:

yes, it's true. society has brainwashed us into thinking that material things are great and wonderful and that they should somehow mold us into who we are or what we stand for. it's called a "style" and we all conform to some type of particular style or "label" in one way or another.

not everyone who is materialistis is "prick" or a "bitch".

i love nice cars and nice shades and flashy watches, and i LOOOVE designer clothes, but that doesn't stop me from buying cheap bathing suits at old navy or target either. would i rather have a gucci bikini? yes i would. but i wont go in debt buying one if i can't afford it.

and i dont judge people who aren't label whores either.

but to be perfectly honest, you get what you pay for.

if you buy a $20 pair of sandals from target, they aren't going to last very long and you'll probably get blisters.

if you spend $200 on a pair of prada sandals, they probably wont look as worn or dingy until like a year later.

it's just about quality and i enjoy having quality material-type clothes.

why is it that when i've gone to some cheapy girl store for a pair of $20 jeans, they just didn't quite fit right? but when i went to astoria on lincoln road and dropped $120 on a pair of jeans, they were the best investment i ever made re: jeans?

....

nevermind, i'm sure no one is listening and i sound like a superficial bitch right now

but i'm not. i am materialistic but i'm not some bitchy snob about it who wont associate with anyone who doesn't wear prada.

How dare you have facts to back up your statement

Yeah, whenever I would buy cheap shirts they never fit right and would start to fade, etc, but I when I would buy shirts from designer labels, they have lasted me for years and still look brand new. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but sometimes you pay too much What I might think is a rediculous investment, someone else might not...just breaks down to what you're willing to spend.

In other words, stop hijacking my thread

ok so, cars are only meant for getting you from point A. to point B., so when you start spending tons of money on them, you have problems?

lol

that analogy would work better if more expensive glasses blocked sun better

not really, you just know what you like. your money, your choice. everybody wins

true, but raybans and oakleys are known for blocking out the most sun and they run anywhere from $80-$200.

but yea, those lightly tinted gucci & chanel ones are more for looks, and for somewhat blocking out the sunlight

but i like those oversized really dark black looking ones too...the kind where you can't tell if the person is looking at you or not.

I dont like people being able to see my eyes when im wearing glasses for some reason. I like to be able to look around and not pay attention and check out cleavage without them commenting on it!

oooh those are sweet.

i got my fake Chanel sunglasses in Greece for 16 euro, and i love the way they look on me...

i think people wear those big ugly ones just to hide their big ugly faces.

Isn't there therapy to get that fixed? Or get surgery? Seriously.

You guys thought I was serious. Ha. The real purpose of sunglasses is to be able to stare down women's blouses without them knowing. If you spend a ton of money for something more, you've got problems.

Posted by placebo on Jun-28-2006 19:15:

Thumbs up

yea but most women are gold-diggin whores, so at least drop the money on the flashy shades to allow you to stare down her blouse, and you just might score! haha
