How's the STANDARD of living in Thailand? I know that the LEVEL OF LIFE that can be achieved is very high, but what happens when you step outside your mansion?

I'm guessing the only nightlife/business in Fiji would be the one in the hotels. I doubt there's much of anything else... but then again, that's why i would live there. I just want peace and quiet for the rest of my life (with, as mentionned earlier, internet access. Some things you just cannot live without ).
