God damn I was only there for about 3 hours because my lame friends wanted to leave, but no joking around i think that might have been the most fun i've ever had in a club. I had only been to 1015 once back in 2004 to see D:fuse and i really wasn't too impressed with it, but last night that place was great: like the club seemed a lot nicer and cleaner, and the crowd seemed a lot more chill. I'm not even much of a pvd fan but i might have to go back for that next month just because it was such a fun party.
As for the talent, I think that picture really says it all. Steve looked like he had a lot of energy and was really enjoying himself up there, not just like this was another gig for some cash, but like he was really having a great time and excited to be there. I think this was reflected in the music, because it was spectacular. I only caught the end of the opening set but the tracks were great and really set the stage, and it only got better from there. After last night i think i'd choose 1015 over ruby skye any time there was something cool going on at both clubs in the same night.

i couldn't find free parking for blocks around the club and usually that's not a problem, so i'm thinking great: an hour line at least! after finding a spot a few blocks away, i'm walking up to 1015 and there's a line wrapped well around the block. taj is the man and expedited my id check/pat down... that was clutch! i get in around 11:30 and john beaver is playing ferry corsten's fire (flashover mix) and finishes out with a great lead in for thrillseekers to pick up off of.

next up is thrillseekers and this guy performs with energy! if he's not cueing and mixing, he's constantly shaking and moving and workin the crowd. kind of reminded me of eddie halliwell. steve starts out his set with all kinds of timeless melodic BOMBS, mostly his own productions/remixes... such as thrillseekers remixes of hydra - affinity, reflekt ft deline bass - need to feel loved, synaesthesia, by your side, but also a bunch of classics like as the rush comes avb remix, but little by little he's injecting harder and harder tracks... effectulal rdn remix, svd - punk'd sean tyas remix--OMG!, so project - direct dizko svd rmx, virtuoso public domain remix, mike koglin - 1:1.618, and by the middle of his set it was very sander van doornish belting trance ... someone broke his yellow - oh yeah svd remix cd and he threw it down on the ground in a 'ah fuck it!' manner towards the end he wound it down a bit and now taj takes over with the crowd charged.

i wasn't sure which direction taj was about to take the music, but he ends up blowing everyone away with a hard, beat-ridden techno set. he really did a great job of taking it to the next level and keeping the place filled into the early hours of the morning. loved the break beats!

another very fun part about the night was all the synergy and support all the djs were bouncing off each other. steve helstrip is incredibly down-to-earth and approachable and he ended up partying and dancing around in the booth for 2 hours with taj after finishing up. there were lots of funny moments and nonverbal jokes goin around back there too also i must say since the last time i was at 1015, which was at least a month ago, they've really spruced up the place. the lighting and visuals were a lot more involved, the vibe was much better and i like what they did with the booths on the back stage.

i stayed till about 5:30 at which point exhaustion occurred and i decided i wouldn't be able to make it till the end...bummer, but those pounding beats had me goin for a good run. i was already pretty drained by 4 anyway, but was having trouble leaving the music. so to sum it up, great night of music from beginning to end, had me walking to my car with a big smile on my face

here's my pics...
