I think she has all the right to be pissed. No one has the right to piss all over someone's review. I know he said sorry, the matter of fact is her review should not have been critisized the way it was. I love Jon Jon's music and have no problem with him, I'm just saying Yvonne deserves a hell of alot more respect then was given. Everyone's opinion counts and everyone should be treated equally... mutual respect. If someone wasn't even at the event they should not be putting a review down.
Chris

Only 1 week, that's great. Dan and I have not missed a beat. We both love that place. Great music, great people, great vibe. Some nights better than others.

You are right. Some nights are better than others, but we still love it too. Even when we try to go elsewhere...like fly...we survive until 1 or 2am and then leave to go to sonic anyways. lol

I guess we'll just have to wait for Brad Copeland or Max Graham to get booked at Sonic for Jon to write an "OMG"- review thread.

I'm sorry my reviews are no longer credible Jon, but it seems as if maybe you are the only one who seems to think this way. And for the record, any time you see Brad OR Max - i cant help but feel your review is a little biased as well. According to you they have never had an 'off' night.

The reason I believe it was the best night at the club (since opening as Sonic), was the combination of two things.

1.) The music incredible, Grondin single handedly brought back my faith in tribal (a genre that has been becoming less appealing for me lately).

2.) Although it was a very gay crowd, it was still diverse.... and the music wasn't diva style, or cheese - it was hard edged, and enjoyed by the likes of all types who were in the club that night. (which i firmly believe will be the winning formula for the club in the future)

jon is right, sometimes it just looks like the promoter is not saying the complete truth even if s/he does.

his relationship with the club does make his review a little tainted

...and I'm not on Max/Brad's payroll. Big difference.

Grondin is absolutely amazing - I agree. His more modern take on the tribal sound is very engaging and kept me very captivated @ BeB.

you do realise that i gain absolutely nothing by posting a 'positive' review right jon? i do not get paid by the club to do this, and you of all people should know that i have ALWAYS posted party reviews for the club, even before i was on payroll (as you put it).

people know that i am the only promoter on this board who works for the club, and the review i post for sonic (or any other club i attend for that matter), is my personal take on how a party went. do you suggest that anyone who promotes for a club should not be able to post a review, ever? i have been an active part on this board for over four years, you make me out to be one of these random promo companies who just register to spam.

you talk about lame actions? calling me out on a message board and tossing around the comments you have - then turning to apologize to me via text message is pretty lame as well. if you would like to apologize for your actions, do it in here.... thanks.

You'd be a pretty shitty promoter if you didn't think a review helps to promote for another night to be had in said club!? lol (especially regular night events that are based on return customers)

They do? I honestly have no idea who works for whom anymore, fuck this thread is testament to said confusion.

actually all I have ever said was that I didn't believe your reviews anymore. lol that's it...

And lastly that txt msg comment was pretty fucking low, bravo for bringing this shit back on the board. I did yes apologize to you in PM, and via cell phone, but apparently it's still not good enough...

Jeff, I do apologize for any harm this has caused you personally/professionally, I guess the reality is I have to take every review (by a promoter or not) at face value absolute truth.

Try to avoid:

1. Reviewing your own event if you the promoter or associated with the event - it looks really lame.

Posted by geroin on Jul-22-2006 21:45:

richard lmao i was gonna say the exact same thing

no one said you cannot post a review BUT a party reviewed by a promoter WILL NEVER look 100% credible
Floorwhore is this news to you?

that is fair, as i probably would question a promoters motives as well. my problem with jon's comments is this. jon, is a friend. not just some online persona who i have never met. it was a shocker to me to see him throw a comment like that online, when this has NEVER been mentioned to me in person. thats not how friends act where i come from.

this will be my last post in this thread, no need to continue rediculous banter back and forth on a message board in a review thread. i obviously have a problem with the way jon conducts himself online, and vice versa - really not something i am losing sleep over.
