-- The most useless remix ever?

Don't get me wrong- I like their stuff, but mostly because of the glossy production and how elaborate their tracks are. The remix of Suburban Train is different because it's quite simple and low-key, but to me it has more atmosphere than most WOW.

same version, only named different on different labels, on it's original subliminal release it was called dirty mix, on some other release it's called main mix or original mix

i like sanders sets, but this track is the biggest piece of shit in edm history...worse than im a scatman even

bullshit. that track is one of the better "electro house"-ish tunes to have come out recently.

Posted by Ian on Jul-21-2006 22:44:

gatex is fine if you have the talents to layer it in a techno set. It pissed a lot of techno-heads off at the time iirc. armin did one of something too i think?

Gouryella - Gouryella - Armix

and yes to the sander k rmx of exhale. awful!

yeah im not sure about the sander k remix of exhale...i only heard it for the first time recently BUT as a "remix" its so crap but as a stand alone track i quite like it, rather minimal and technoy.

Posted by capricorn15 on Jul-21-2006 22:58:

only one i can really think of is

andy bagguely remix of nu nrg - freefall. i think that was the track, but it was basically the same structure adn what not with a different synth on the melody and seemed to take all the energy out of the song, and it added nothing. it didnt even seem like a remix, just a lesser version of the original. it was a radio rip i heard, so maybe it was an it was an unfinished version.

Actually it wasn't. The remix on Involver is completely different mix than the one that got released.

i wouldnt call it recently...sure it was released in december i think, but it was played and played and played way before then.Every fucking dj would play it for 10 minutes until you wanted to poke your eyes out.It was dubbed the time to take a a piss song.Lineups were long

both remixes were pretty useless then.

Agnelli & Nelson - Holding Onto Nothing (PVD Remix)

No difference with the original...

Junkie Xl - Breezer (Tiesto Remix)

sounds so noobish, i wait its not fake...

Posted by Reactic on Jul-23-2006 23:37:

how to understand useless?

you mean when an remix is unnecessary because the original version is great

or

you mean when someone remixes a track and there is hardly any difference to the original?

For me one of the most useless would be the PvD remix of Wavy Gravy

i'm aware there are loads of 'remixes' that really just add a tougher kick/bass to the original but i wouldn't call these useless... some of the time that's all they need & it makes them sound better where it counts; in the club.

g&d's mix of into the night doesn't even add that though, just weakens it down a bit, elongates the structure & puts a flange on the bass. yawn

Yeah, I agree with both of those.

The Tiesto mix of Gatex is pretty useless too.

My contribution would be the Marco V remix of Connected. Biggest collaborative letdown ever.

Posted by Ry Diggs on Jul-24-2006 00:55:

any remix of Buy Now - "For Sale"

and let's also add all the remixes of M.A.N.D.Y.'s "Body Language" to that list while we're at it

Energy 52 - Caf Del Mar (Marco V remix)
This is so weak compared to all other quality remixes so it hurts.
