Right now I am waiting for someone to say wow you got owneeeeed. Its all about house thats why Montreal's house Mecca books a one of the biggest Trance dj's out there, thats ownage for all you house fans out there. And like shit, are you guys all walking with sticks in your asses, I mean I can't make a playful comment without being bashed for it ? I listen to trance day and night I enjoy it sober or fucked, a lot to me its the best kind of music, you making the assumption that I only enjoy when I pop pills is pretty ignorant and like ur telling me people who listen to house don't pop pills you should know better as a DJ. And please don't call me stupid no need for that. I don't mind house I just can't stand that everywhere u go its house here house there you know its nice to have some trance back in MTL again, didn't know it was illegal to get excicted for it.

I am what I am, and umm I just expressing my own opinion. If people don't like trance I don't give a shit, its their own personal preference, and in my mind they are missing out. And I by no means wanted to offend all-nite-freak if I did please accept my appology, but I don't even think I said anything that bad.

let's go camping and listen to Burrrrrned with Desirrrrrrrrrrrrrrre

i think it's pretty cool that Stereo is doing something a little different by booking Armin. I also think that it wouldn't hurt Montreal to diversify the scene by giving more options to the public (ex. booking different artists of all genres instead of sticking to one genre).

Couldn't agree more. I mean if you go to Toronto you can catch some trance/house/tribal or w/e all in the same night, I don't understand why MTL can't be like that, like what there isn't a big enough trance fan base in MTL ? I would find that hard to believe.

thats because promoters here want to see what they like more than what the public wants.

Posted by dj ugo on Jul-27-2006 19:12:

I think that people involved in Montreal electronic music scene have to open their mind a little bit more. House music is still #1 in Montreal, and it will be #1 for a few years. But people have to understand that's it's not all about house music. There's a few more style that can influence the scene, and we have to accept and promote that. All big house djs are not only listening to house music, they listen to other djs and other kind of music. So, to me a trance night in stereo will be a new kind of night that i never try before. A good house sound system and a good trance dj...nobody know in this town how it will be...so give the chance.

read the thread, stereo aren't the bookee.. they're simply renting the venue.

Isn't Godskitchen behind most events now in MTL ? Or Heiniken Music ? don't they usually work with pretty big Trance names ? shit I am probably wrong.

lol

My friend went to Stereo about 2 weeks ago, and he has nothing against gay people, but he said that there were so many that he almost felt uncomfortable, I hope its not like that for Armin.

im not against any trance bookings... i think it always bring good parties and its your choice to like it... i dont care

im saying that both clubs will lose money and next time theyll bring a trance headliner... they will think twice my friend

why do you think you only see the top 5 trance djs in mtl and not the rest... cuz even the biggest names dont make money... whos gonna book number 10 ?

its the same for housemusic... and its sad

''You ignorant fool'' - ''its house that is sooo boring''

you should take it easy by the way on the way you talk in here

70 to 80% of the users on montreal's forum arent into trance at all

and it obvious that some of us are sad that theres no big house parties

NOT THE TYPE OF HOUSE YOU HEAR IN COMMERCIAL CLUBS

you aint gonna hear digweed at every corner

Posted by Sean Walsh on Jul-27-2006 21:05:

Not to mention that the stuff Digweed is playing these days is closer to what I'd consider good "trance" than it is house really. Check out his set with Sasha from Hungary a few weeks ago, the first two hours are filled with awesome tripped out melodic grooves.

Well you are probably right, but I am gonna say this, I saw ATB in Toronto and hes like what # 10 on the DJ list, and in fact it was one of the funnest parties I've been to. I think the reason why MTL clubs don't make money when they book big international DJ's is because they are simply too small ? and hence its harder for them to break even. I mean the Guvernment in Toronto has someone big there almost every week, and I am pretty sure they make a killing because the place is huge and always packed, but then again I don't know thier books and I don't know the business. And as we have discussed on here before if the DJ is expensive charge more for entrance, I saw Tiesto at the docks and I had no problem paying 95 bucks, just like people who went to see Madonna at the Bell Centre payed 500-4000 a ticket. I don't expect to see Armin, Ferry or Tiesto and pay 20 bucks to pay inn, I know they are top of their class so I am willing to pay more.
