ahh whatever... you two guys come off sounding like a couple of brats throwing a tantrum because the state energy controller "urges" you to conserve some energy--it's such an evil concept, i know... what kind of fascist police-state do we live in where the utility controller can suggest things! if you use your electricity reasonably, that's fine, but running your a/c at 60 degrees 24/7 even when you're not home is not reasonable, it's pretty disgusting. you probably have no idea how pollusive that pointless gesture is either. i imagine you don't even give a shit.

all caiso is asking of you is to set the thermostat around 78-80 and try to use major appliances after 7pm. you act like they're asking for a kidney. if 78 degrees is unliveable for you in a dry california climate, please grow a pair. seriously. my whole problem here is with you guys lashing out at caiso for putting out an alert. i just can't deal with childish behavior from grown adults. and on top of that i really hate people who waste, anything. just because you pay for it doesn't make it right. it reflects greatly upon your character. i guess i'm not changing anyone's mind here so continue to perpetuate the american stereotype...

ps: we can still be friends but if you think global warming is bs, i'll still have a very low view of your intelligence because the science and data behind it is OVERWHELMING... like 'evolution' overwhelming, but the small-minded always choose to believe whatever's most convenient... i didn't take you for one to be small-minded thrax, but then again i don't know you very well

MISCONCEPTION 1....

EXCELLENT POST TSG

even the entire body of nasa, not to mention the world science community--everyone from biologists to geoscientists, have been saying it for years and years and years. nasa's computer models can predict the climate change from the 7 billion metric tonnes of co2 we dump into our atmosphere EACH YEAR IN AMERICA ALONE, down the 1/10th of a degree. they say the tipping point where it becomes too late to cool the atmosphere down no matter what we do will be sometime around 2037, when the global climate increases by 5-6 degrees.

but of course, dr. thrax is here to tell us global warming does not exist honestly, a statement like that is more laughable than creationism or scientiology just about the only person in the world opposed to the idea of global warming is george bush--and he has a good excuse at least: it hurts his buddies in the energy/oil industries to acknowledge it. you thrax? i dunno, i mean you have the entire internet at your fingertips and you choose to deny the FACT of global warming...

Gah! Domestic Arachnids don't matter!

Must find more Cancer antennarius spots (Just trying to make my research easier)

An even easier solution, live in a movie theater. I movie hopped all day on Friday, free AC ftw.

there are so many things you can do to cool down: call up some friends and jump in the pool, take a cold shower, make a gallon of iced tea, go to a store/mall/library, get naked.... jumping in the ocean sounds nice, i wish i lived closer to the beach

anyway, it looks like it's cooling down. today's high is 99 and it steadily drops to 86 by sunday. i was just driving around today with my windows down thinking how nice 98 degrees feels for a change

... and I thanked God for yesterday's evening cool-down! WOW! What a big difference from the night before!!! I was able to sleep.

Today around noonish... SUCKED.

If you don't believe in global warming, just remember:

GREENLAND IS FUCKING MELTING RIGHT NOW

Posted by R!CH on Jul-27-2006 01:30:

also, if you think there's nothing you can do about it, just remember: the united states accounts for 5% of the world population, uses 32% of the world's oil production and produces 25% of the world's green house gasses. we are a HUGE part of the problem, in fact most people around the world agree we ARE the problem.
