This is my credo....

------

You get up every morning
From your alarm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

And I'll be...
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime

------

Since the late 90s I've been working in interactive media, advertising and marketing.

I co-founded a multi-million dollar iMarketing/iMedia firm in 1997 and sold it to a NASDAQ listed company in late-2002. I worked at the company who purchased my firm until August 2005 (when I quit to start up a new firm).

Currently I am a managing partner in a Canadian interactive advertising/marketing firm with offices in Toronto and Montreal. Our clients are primarily Fortune Global 500 companies whom we assist in developing, executing and managing interactive media/marketing initiatives (iMedia/iMarketing/iAdvertising).

You must be a student at UW on a co-op term? Good guess?

I'm on co-op right now for a software development company.

Waterloo student in math/compsci, but will be off to co-op term doing mathematical programming for Maplesoft. It's my second term with them... essentially, I work with really brainy people to develop new algorithms for solving various types of mathematical problems, like computing Groebner Bases, solving differential equations, algebra, etc. Most of my work consists of implementation... I research/develop various algorithms to perform a given mathematical task, and program them into Maple, adding various features, options, tests, and documentation. Maple is one of the world's leading mathematical software programs, and is used by researchers at universities, as well as professionals in the industry. I really enjoy my work... I get to work with incredibly brilliant people, and I learn tons of crazy math. Best job I've ever had.

that's why I love these threads...they help dispel the myth (at least to ourselves, lol) that partiers are all crackheads who are unemployed, uneducated, etc. as the general population and media would have people believe!

Yes, I think it was James Zabiela who said all dj's and producers are nerds

(do NOT quote me on that, I'm probably remembering his interview entirely wrong)
