Yeah it seems that Nature One and Mayday are two shows where he always brings it. PVD has so much ability to be great, yet unfortunately he does not consistently bring it like that.
So far the nature one sets are sounding great. What a festival.

you have to realize that dj's like pvd, armin, tiesto, that TOUR YEAR ROUND, cant 'bring it' everytime they play, they are human afterall. ive always believed that too much touring is one of the main reasons for poor gigs. alot of these guys are just too tired and that explains some of the erratic consistently in set quality. not to mention the main byeproduct of the over touring is that the tracklist can get predictable and boring. and i dont think anyone has more of a grueling schedule than mr paul van dyk. but im a idiot so what the hell do i know

I guess I should mark this date on my calendar because we actually agree. Your point is well taken.
No doubt their grueling schedules can result in complete exhaustion and/or illness (case in point Sander K. and others recently) or just less than full-on sets. The predictability issue is 100% on, as their posted tracklists surely show a lot of the time.
My only complaint would be that for people who paid for a given night (let's say AVB the last 2 times @ Space) they do not want to hear excuses, only great sets, yet do not always get them. Therefore maybe a little less grueling of schedules and/or a little more sleep/rest and less partying is in order. I mean these guys get paid anywhere from $10,000 - $25,000 to play on one night. If I were to get paid that much to show up to work for only 4 to 6 hours and did it half-assed, how professional would that be?

lineup is mostly techno (what germans like the most), so that's why i did not go.
oh and da, nature one is about techno and house and definitely not trance. that's why pvd plays house. no one likes trance around here. |
why do you say that stupid sh..!?
ok, cause of commerical and financial circumstances, germans like rnb at most, followed by kindergarten-techno and fluffy trance by great artists like "special d.", "rocco" and "pulsedriver" lol
but to say that there is no trance around here? omg!!! wtf!!!
look @ the nice armada/supra floor:
Dennis Feldmann vs. Michael McLean
Algarve
M.I.K.E.
Woody van Eyden & Alex M.O.R.P.H.
Misja Helsloot
Heller & Enkie
Andrew Bennett
Markus Schulz
Perry ONeil
Trance Nation Allstars
(!!!)
You couldn't even find a place to dance at Armins gig on the OpenAir Floor!
So don't say that Paul plays House in the country where he comes from from, because no one wants the listen to trance. ATB also! It was raining @ his gig, so the dancefloor was not so crowded!
