I'm trying to limit my posting to 1-2 days a week so I might actually put a bit more effort into some of them.

and its most definitely NOT a lovely city!

I seriously hate this track. The vocals are annoying as hell, the electro-bassline (or whatever you want to call it ) sounds awful and the track is more repetative than the program on TV.

This track is so simple and boring, every 5 year old kid could have down that in like 5 minutes

great electro slays.. however this track certainly does nothing of the sort.

i like this tune, i could see why some what get sick of it if they're in an area where its overplayed.

i jumped right to the dub mix though, as mentioned, detroit is anything but a lovely city.

i'm usually not as into this 'minimal house' if thats how you'd label it, but its catchy, and a fun tune to dance too. I'd surprised to hear rank 1 would use this as an opening track? its near the back on the mix i made, and fits in well there (becuase i usually get slightly harder in the latter half)

pitch it up some %, it will for sure sound better

Then you'd be insulting electro. Just file it under crap; I think most can agree on that.

Bad Boy Bill played a version identical to this when I saw him, except it was Chi-town, rather than Detroit. Horrid tune, but it got the rest of the dancefloor moving.

Music is subjective. Most people don't dislike it because it's popular (that's a horrible reason to hate something in the first place), most people dislike it because it's boring. I've heard it played out, and while yes, most of the crowd got into it, I didn't because musically it did absolutely zero for me (it was dull, bland and repetitive). I stood there, drinking my water, not even nodding my head or tapping my foot. I did that because I wasn't a fan of it musically, not because, "Wow, everyone just ran out from the bar and is dancing to this. God that's so lame!" The number of people on a dance floor does absolutely zero for myself and most people here when it comes down to our personal opinion on the track.

as for PYHUFD (what a silly acronym that tune makes)... i don't love it, but i don't hate it. i won't ever play it but i also won't run out of the room in disgust if a DJ drops it.

but starting a set with it, that is just laughable.

oh, I thought you were talking about Cheboygan, MI :P I thought you were a fellow michigander for a second. That would have been funny.

I was referring to anybody who uses the argument, "The 'haters' only hate it because the tune is so popular and/or they wish they were that popular."

but you were applying it to yourself... which is a paradox

Yeah, I have to agree with this too... The popularity of a song really does not have any influence on whether or not I'm going to like the song. If I listen to a song and it sounds good to me, then I like it... if it sounds like shit, then im obviously not going to enjoy it. if I hear it on a commercial radio station like KTU in NY the next day, I'm not going to all of a sudden hate it. Seriously, that's fucking retarded.

Friend #1: Hey did you hear the new trentemoller song?
Me: Yeah! It's fucking awesome!

2 weeks later...
Friend #2: Man, I heard that new Trentemoller song during Pete Tong's liveset on Radio1, what a killer fucking track!
Me: Yeah whatever, the track sucks massive donkey dick.
Give me a break

BTW, the song is fucking atrocious, and it's not because it's the next song played in your mother's minivan right after Robert Miles - Children. (bad joke, i know) The Discount Rhinos Remix makes it more tolerable imo but still doesn't do it for me.

Posted by TazZ-erT on Sep-15-2006 08:39:

Discount Rihno's Remix is very good imo

Yves Larock feat. Roland Richards - Zookey ( Lift your leg up )

Dancefloor killah 11111!111one

Posted by zoric on Nov-05-2006 18:56:

I went out this Wednesday and this track was probably played out like 4 or 5 times by the DJ.

I've got to say that this is some of the worst shit I've heard in a very long time, and my friends loved this ofcourse.

Posted by CHRles on Nov-05-2006 20:40:

Wow, the popularity of this song just hit a new level as it's moved up to number ONE on the UK Pop charts:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/singles.shtml

Oh yeah, another Ibiza anthem is right below it at number 2 - Bodyrox "Yeah Yeah".

Say what you want, these records are bringing new people to Dance events, which tends to have a positive effect on both the mainstream and underground Dance scenes.

Posted by FinishingMove on Nov-05-2006 20:55:

Well yea ... for people who consider listening to indie rock a PSY experience , call trance "techno" , and check the top 40 list everyday in order to update their iPods so they could be acordingly cool , this is good.

Ignorance is a blessing.

Posted by Prototrance on Nov-10-2006 12:45:

Yep its bad. Girlfriend loves it though so I hear it a lot. She thinks shes underground........................

But I do love Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (D Ramirez remix) <--- His original non vocal remix not the trashy shit vocal one.
