Ireland and the UK have "Atlantic"/Anglo cultures which are closer to America than to Europe.

Well I live in Quebec, and have lived in Quebec my entire life and can safely say that the frenchies here are often a-holes, but there are a lot of nice ones too, however the french here speak a very "rough and tumble" language that may come across as agressive or rude (or at least curt) to many people, its just how they're used to talking to eachother.

Having been to France I didnt find the French there to be all that nasty or anything, however I do speak accentless French (Void of any type of accent, quebec or Parisian) so they probably couldnt figure out where I was from Either way I had no troubles.

Also to do with France's restricting of religious beliefs, good. Only country on earth that has sucesfully seperated church from state, if they had to restrict the rights of religion, so be it, dont like it get out of France or dont move there, simple as that.
