GU 9 San Francisco > all other Gu's

Paul Woolford or Nick Fanciulli would actually be good choices as well to do a GU. Dave Seaman or Zabiela would be perfect but they're with the Renaissance series. Maybe GU can talk Sasha into doing one again. I mean he's already on the label with the Fundacion stuff

As long as there is no more LaVelle, Nick Warren, or Sleep Dish

The Howells choice for 27 was a very good one and I'm sure he'll get another shot.

I love Nick Warren GU's
I'll be looking out for this one, GU series never disappoint me

His older ones were good but the Iceland one and Shaghai were pretty lame.

I've enjoyed the times I've seen him live however with the most memorable night being back in nov 03 when he dropped Sander K - My Lexicon and Sasha - Cloud Cuckoo (Luke Chable Mix) that night

At GU28 that Sj Esau track is hot tho.

I like 024 only for the breaks mix on CD1 and Vector 13 - Rise, and Starkid - Crayons on CD2

What da hell is 'Other Side' doing over there?

Doesn't look promising at all..

What are the odds that we are going to get GU030 - Dubfire in the near future?

Posted by montana on Aug-30-2006 00:31:

you know, gu might aswell ask ben kaye for the next or fucking anne savage, because it'd still be more interesting than deep dish labelwhoreing and just being lazyarses tracklistwise

Well i live in Dubai and i can say that vibe over here more or less is represented by Sharams compilation. i think that GU series trully represents the vibe of the named city. Dubai is strongly commercial fake "Bling Bling" crowd booking tables with champagne when Sasha is absolutely havin it on the dancefloor.
Loads of tracks on his Dubai GU were played here by the man himself in april when he played in the local superclub(www.trilogy.ae). It was a hell of a set as he was on his high after WMC success.

P.S. for those of u interested to know more bout Dubai scene go to www.dubailook.com/forum

Looks like you have a nice lineup of events upcoming from your sig

here's all the trainspots I got from that night

2003 November 14 - Nick Warren @ Avalon [Boston, MA]

Sasha - "Cloud Cuckoo (Luke Chable Mix)"
UNKLE - "In A State (Sasha Remix)"
Luke Chable and Danny Bonnici - "Ride (Original Mix)"
Sasha and Junkie XL - "Beauty Never Fades (Breaks Mix)"
Sander Kleinenberg - "My Lexicon (Original Mix)"
Dj Emily - "Disco Bandit"
Golan Globus - "Blazer"
PQM - "You Are Sleeping (Luke Chable Vocal Pass)"
Subsky - "Strawberry Fields"
Tiga - "Into The Shadows"
Way Out West - "Muthafucka"

You Are Sleeping was also a big highlight and some breaks remix of Beauty Never Fades...One of the best nights musically ever for me

boooo for GU. They have just snowballed into a "bad" series. Compair this stuff to say GU 99'-02' and it just puts a frown on my face. They need some new blood and forward thinking.

Why not:
Infusion
Ozgur Can
Matt Rowan & Jaytech
Derek Howell

?

I say pick up and coming local DJs from around the world to represent their cities. Would be cool imo.

though i have some GU releases, i dont know their 'sound' really, so i cant tell if youre wrong or right. nonetheless, i like the SHM (Swedish House Maffia) sound more n more, and I'd love to hear some of them on a GU. can you name me some other artists that have a sound 'compatible' for a GU-release, but havent made/done a GU yet?
