whenever i cant get a track because of this i just go straight to oink or soulseek lol. if they dont want my money then i will keep it for myself

lol thanks anyways! By the way I do the same thing when I can't buy a track except that this one in particular is Y-Traxx - Mysteryland. I can't find a clean sounding 320 quality mp3.

Is there anybody from the United Kingdom region who can help a TA out, post here or PM.

Proxies do work.

Beatport won't let me buy most Mashtronic stuff from them so I just use a US IP address and voila!

I tried yahoo and google, but maybe I'm searching about it the wrong way or something. Will you please recommend me a good proxy site or a list of UK proxy addresses. None of the ips I used work.

I used http://www.samair.ru/proxy/ when looking for mine, but I went through LOADS before I found one that worked though...

I just wrote the article about changing your region to bypass Beatport's territory based pricing, but the same process works well for buying out of territory songs as well.

Territory restricted music is a little harder to deal with, because you need to do a little research on what territory the particular label distributes to, but it's not too hard once you know where to look.

Beatport HAS implemented a couple of measures to try and thwart proxy users, but they are trivial to defeat. The fact of the matter is that because proxied traffic is no different than normal traffic, they can't do a whole lot to restrict their use or they would effect normal customers as well. If you're using the process I outline in my article to buy out of territory music, you need to be aware that Beatport does another check now at checkout (before they just did a check when you added the song to your cart).

And don't worry too much about CC info. If you have a Beatport account already established, the CC info is already stored server side and is never passed on. you DO have to worry about passing your BP password, but I address that in my article. And you don't have to worry about someone getting your CC info FROM your Beatport account, because it's hashed out, even in the account setup/change screens.

Thanks, one of the IPs actually worked!

That article was very informative. The key thing I picked up from it was that I was supposed to use anonymous proxies and not transparent, codeen, elite, or other types of proxies. Always anonymous. I've been using everything but anonymous. Thanks nemonic.

On the down side the track I bought sounds worse than the old mp3 I have sitting on my drive. I was hoping to replace my old one with this new one, but all that trouble for nothing, lmao. Now I'm going to end up keeping both.

At the end of the day all these distribution gimmics do is force people to resort to P2P.

Had this problem with Armin vs. Rank 1 - World is Watching (Cosmic Gate remix)

Just had a mate from Netherlands use my account, buy it, and sendspace it to me. Problem solved

fucking territory restrictions! (*098709&F)(D*F&)(DS*&F)(*D&F)(DS*&

btw, how is this territory thing enforced?
through your IP address, etc.? or just by the country you put in the info section/credit card info?

Posted by nem0nic on Mar-05-2007 14:01:

It currently has nothing to do with your CC info. It's based on the IP address you session is coming from.
