off-topic but did anyone notice that Oakenfold, Rauhofer and f'in DJ DAN all remixed the new Paris Hilton song???? WTF???!?!?!?! Oakenfold, even Rauhofer I can understand.... but DJ DAN?????? c'mon now. Now if I was given an opportunity to remix a Paris Hilton song, I can't necessarily say I would turn it down lol but still I found it kinda surprising.
btw the DJ DAN mix is pretty damn good. I mean, I heard it was pretty good. Rauhofer and Oakenfold mixes ain't too shabby either. I heard.

The first time Party All the Time was played the crowd went nuts. Especially the guys in the "My Girl Likes To PATT" shirts. |
drudwn, your friends are in several of my photos here:

rubin, i was actually thinking about the paris hilton remix when i was typing up my thing about GB and rock classics being remixed. and i dont think it's a good thing.
\
i was massively distraught when holden remixes a b. spears track because by doing so he validated her music in some way. now even chus & ceballos did a remix of Stars are Blind, thus giving it some measure of validation.
and that's not good. because that music is shite. and rock classics should be left alone.

i was so drunk from yuris's jack and jack that all i could think of when PATT was on was "god this would be great for a cialis enlarged prostate commercial"
"I DONT WANT TO POTTY ALL THE TIME POTTY ALL THE TIME POTTY ALL THE TIIII IIIME."
Re: the Floyd track. It wouldnt have made as big an impression on me if I was just listening at home. Hearing it for the first time, on such a big ass CLEAN hard-hitting system... was what did it. The sound was so damn good that the LAST thing I was thinking was "oh great another rock remake". The SOUND and MOOD of the moment overpowered everything and anything else I could think of.

| [i][b] Juliet, I was actually trying to get you a VIP badge, but it took about a half hour to peel one off and then I couldn't find you, so I wound up adding it to the collection in the meantime. |

money talks, right.
sounds like everyone had a great time. pictures of the stages at night look sweet! wish we could have been there.
maybe next year... when they have someone other than Tiest0rz headline.

Overall, had a great time. The "2nd Stage" was a pretty big disappointment, just due to its size, and that's where the best music was. Matthew Dear & Akufen were incredible. Dear's set, in particular, was easily one of the best I've ever heard. Junkie didn't disappoint, as usual, and hearing Mushroom on that set-up was
. Deep Dish was a lot of fun, but I still don't understand some of the decisions on track selection, as people have already gone over. And last but not least, thanks to Tiesto for providing me with the most hilarious moment of the weekend. My friend actually turned to me towards the end of that set and said, "what do you think he'll play next?" Jokingly, I replied, "probably 'Traffic.'" When it came on about a minute later, we both just burst out laughing uncontrollably. I was still hoping for some sort of explosions or flame-throwing for him, but that finale made up for it, especially with the random & unbelievably out of place filter he threw in in the middle of it--one of the worst things I've ever heard someone decide to do.
I can't say enough about how great-sounding the main stage set-up was. I kept waiting for somebody to play something that'd reveal some flaws, but it just kept sounding incredible all the way through. Keep it, but figure out a way to get more than 30 people at the second stage, & get rid of Tiesto, and it's even better. Finally, good meeting a few of you for the first time, random though it might have been.
Sounds like it was a really tight, well attended event. Hopefully this means more acts, more funding for next year. Was at Labour of Love over the weekend, Armin opened with the pink floyd track that seems to appear all over this thread - an incredible track when played on a solid soundsystem. btw the actual title is:
Pink Floyd - Proper Education (Prydz Remix)
Am bummed to hear bad Deep Dish reviews as they're one of the major acts I have yet to and would like to see.
I heard the actual title is: "Pink Floyd vs. Eric Prydz - Proper Education"

But your title seems to be wrong too, because the original is Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall, so Prydz cant make a remix of a song that does not exist, right? I dunno, im bummed. |
yes, its the same version that was played in Chicago by Benassi and Deep Dish.

| Originally posted by djstopngo k, I started second guessing myself about the title, so I went back and researched it. It was first played on Armin's ASOT #263 under the title: Eric Prydz vs. Pink Floyd - Proper Education Interestingly enough, Prydz did the remix on his computer when he heard the original being played while he was in Paris. Prydz liked his own remix so much he called Armin and asked him to play it on ASOT. Armin obliged. I have no idea what remixes were played in chicago, but that's the version Armin played at LoL. An awesome festival no doubt, but all in all I prefer outdoor events to those held in clubs. |

Well better late than never I guess.
Had a whole lot of fun.
Set of the festival for me had to be Mathew Dear. Absolutely blew me away. Dave Clarks set was great too, although there was points in his set when the distortion was a bit much. Enjoyed Junky's set. Deep Dish had a great set to me, althoughI was running around quite a bit and wasn't listening to closely. The first half of Tieto's set was cool, but during the second half I got a little bored.
Juliet great chatting with you, Phreak and friends hope your night at the hotel was fun, Rubin you are a madman., Blake good to see you, Dres and Omega I'll see you both at the pregame for ferry, Inconspicuos nice meeting you breifly, Andy and yuris had to be the festival true Power hitters, Christen good partying with you, sorry once again I had to bail from spybar. I know I am missing a few, sorry about that.
Well, this whole weekend was loads of fun.
