IN JP's last interview he called the interviewer "honey" at least 7 times. He also charges like 50 bucks advance for his parties in NY. He should jump off a bridge.

Going out and buying interesting records instead of waiting for the top hits patrol to FedEx you a box of turds would be a start.

You'd have to be a moron to be jealous of Armin and his shit show ASOT. Every genre of EDM wether it's house, trance, minimal, progressive, techno , jungle, electro or any fucking combinations of the genres have their fair share of shit releases. To all the Armin fanboys out there, jealousy has nothing to do with it, it's the fact that Armin is wayyyy to overhyped and I can't fucking believe his show is still on. He's equivalent to some dumb fuck DJ at some local radio station who just pops in any new shit release he gets sent to him without really thinking twice. The point is that anyone can do his job, it requires no real technical skill, I don't even consider him a real DJ. Real Djs are people like James Zabiela who are technically skilled or the infamous hip hop Dj GrandMaster Flash who can still tear up the decks at his old age.

People stop accusing other TA member as being "elitists" its only sounds like it because they've been part of the EDM scene a lot longer than you and Armin's show IMHO should've been cancelled a long time ago, honestly, how many more years can he go dropping overhyped shit tracks on his show. If you pay attention to the tracks that Armin, Markus and Above & Beyond play on their weekly shows it's all the same garbage. There are Dj's out there who have better track selections and sets out there than these clowns.

I recommend checking out John '00' Flemming as a start, trust me its like a breath of fresh air. What I can't understand is how so many people could actually sit through the same old recycled sets.

get a life, if you think asot sucks then don't listen.

i'm not a great avb fan but he has done a lot for the scene,

and as far as zabiela goes, the stuff he does is to me just noise,

i'm interested in good track selections in dj sets not some weird scratchy business, but thats IMO

i'm sure in a few months time you will be moaning about trance around the world and after that some new other show.

avb plays popular trance, which many like around here, if it's too commercial for you, then retreat and enjoy your own style of music.

i for instance think its pathetic that some guys around here mention exotic dj names and tracks, which never see any release at all and think that others are dumb when they don't listen to them

i haven't got the time to skim local record shops for exotic stuff,

regular shows like tatw and asot give people the opportunity to enjoy trance, whilst manging a busy life.

i do some promotion for a trance label and its hard work, getting to a level that avb has reached takes a lot of dedication and sacrificing.

where are all the dj skez releases?
you got any international tour dates lined up?

please let us take part in your apparant superior musical taste

once you have any sort of track record that is anywhere near armin's then i'll take you seriously

and regarding "fanboys", most people on TA come here because they are passionate about Trance music and I have yet to meet anybody who is a proper "fanboy", most people even with dj names in their sigs discuss in a reasonable manner and are not one-sided,

going to the asot message board might be a different story,
go to trance.nu and you will see what i mean

Interesting...

It's alright if you like what you like man. But to some people what he does and is is just the opposite as you say. Honestly, most of the arguments coming from BOTH sides of this battle are stupid and senseless. I've been guilty of it myself but you still have to keep in mind that there is music that will hit your ear and sound like shit where someone else will love it.

Interesting.... j/k

I understand your point, and I'm not going to knock anyone's own taste in music, it's their own choice. I'm sure Armin, Markus, Above and Beyond, Gabriel & Dresden, Tiesto and the other famous Djs appeal to the masses because they would not be where they are if it wasn't for the fans. I'm just saying that it's starting to wear a little thin, that people should really explore other genres of EDM or any other music to get a better understanding of why there are so many damn arguments on TA.

I've seen countless amount of thread on songs like G&D feat Molly - tracking treasure down and similiar fluff tracks with posts like "omg, G&D are the best, this song is 10.0 omg, track of the year candidate" and bullshit along those lines. I don't think these morons actually take the time to LISTEN to the track. They're so caught up in the big names and recycled basslines that they don't really take the time to see that a fucking 5th grader could've probably written a similiar track. I won't talk shit about a track if it's half way decent, at least it shows the producer put some effort into it, I remember seeing a lot of threads with topics like is Trance dying out, you damn fucking right it is. That's why i turned to the other genres of EDM back in 2002.

I wonder why there are so many topics on TA. There should be only one, as from page 2-3 and onwards, they all look the same. Idiots bashing idiots flaming retards. There must be something else you cry babies can fill your spare time with.

Asot is a great way to keep updated with whats new in the scene.

If it ain't Jezper Sderlund, one of the biggest names in EDM. May I ask you to rate a few producers for me, you don't have to get into detail, just a simple score between 1 to 10. Please don't shy away, you've had so many productions under your belt for the past few years and I'm really interested to see your scores. I'm only going to post a few new producers.

Jonas Steur
Elevation
Hydroid
Bruni
JPL

If you don't want to rate them you don't have to. Jezper, who is your favorite new EDM producer/Dj. What is your favorite album released this year?

Posted by Airbase on Sep-19-2006 08:05:

Kind of off topic there.

Anyways, I dont rate other producers. People tend to misinterpret everything on forums, and I'd only fuel the fire by doing that. However I think they are all good producers, wether or not I like the style of trance they do. My favorite producers around at the moment though, are Sander Van Doorn, Hybrid and BT. There are also quite a few arising stars in the trance scene that I think we should all keep an eye out for; Maori, Breakfast and Peter Dubs.

As for album, I cant really think of any albums released this year.
