The relationship between English and Italian football isn't very popular but there have been some stars from the past. Gianfranco Zola and Di Canio have done well in both leagues. Zoran...with a quality player like Shevchenko he should already know whats at hand as a striker in the Premier League, he has the strength and speed you need for the English league. The one thing he doesn't have atm is the getting to know the team/players.

Definetly. That takes time as well, and that's another aspect that he needs to learn. I'm sure he will though, Don't doubt it at all, actually, I'm very confident that he'll learn these teams way of playing and then completely adapt to the game. He's definetly got the quality as we agreed on.

CSKA CSKA CSKA!

CSKA Moscow won over Arsenal tonight after a goal by Daniel Carvalho, but I still don't get why the referee dissallowed Henry's goal..

Go CSKA!

Great result for celtic tonight.

Couldn't be happier.

Posted by noikeee on Oct-17-2006 21:50:

4-1! fuck yeah!

Hamburg seem piss poor right now, and our chances in the group are slim thanks to CSKA beating Arsenal, but who cares! 4-1!

Look at our injury list and you know why we suck -> van der Vaart, Jarolim, Demel, Kompany...

True, but I watched your game in Russia when Kompany and Jarolim were fit and I didn't get a very high impression of the team neither..

To be fair, the result yesterday was a bit flattering to us, we just took our chances. Gotta thank Ljuboja too, great penalty.

yeah but it's all about van der Vaart.

we have a great team with great young players but are in a struggle right now because many of them are injured or not 100% healthy.

if you thank Ljuboja thank the referee too for not giving us the 1-1

I think it was rightly disallowed, dangerous play over the keeper. Even if the forward didn't kick Helton's glove, he was very close from doing so. The replay isn't very clear if he touches him or not.

Apart from it, the referee fucked up for both sides:

- Quaresma was fouled entering the area, wrongly given an yellow card for supposed diving, would've been a very dangerous free kick, nearly a penalty.
- yellow card for Fucile didn't make any sense, it was a perfectly normal foul.
- Ljuboja should have seen the 2nd yellow card, and the consequent red card, when he commited that stupid penalty kick. Would've killed the game.
- our 3rd goal was wrongly allowed as Postiga was offside.

Fantastic goal from Bastian Schweinsteiger for Bayern against Sporting, Great shot from about 25m ends up in the back of Sportings net.

it's funny that Schweinsteiger had 2 1/2 goals of same kind @ world cup against Ricardo

Bayern Mnchen is really impressing, they keep on scoring goals but still, they haven't allowed a goal, that's strong after 3 games.

well... they don't have a very tough group

Bayern won't get far this year in champions league. And in Bundesliga Bremen is much stronger this year than Bayern.

They're doing very well currently, I would still not count them away on anything even though it's really hard to win the Bundesliga and CL.

they won't get farther than quarter-finals @ cl and won't make more than 2nd place in bundesliga. believe me.

I respect your oppinion, but I would still not count them away because of their great opening of the tournament. It's still a achievement to take your team to the Quarterfinals in the CL.

as much as i don't appreciate german football, i must admit i was impressed by this year's bayer performances, the way they play and how the ball moves
