Posted by fastmp3 on Sep-13-2006 20:26:

there's gonna be a press conference from the hospital in a few minutes

Posted by Alex on Sep-13-2006 20:28:

This is ridiculous, I cant get in touch with any of my friends, cell phone lines are too clogged.

Posted by Dj Nacht on Sep-13-2006 20:30:

I had an appointment at the hospital but they called me and told me not to come cause supposedly its all congested and blocked off. I hate watching the news because the stories always change and its pretty sad to see this shit happening

Posted by Soundwerks on Sep-13-2006 20:42:

pretty fucked up scene I hope everyone who is injured comes out OK!

Its messed up...I spent 2 years at Dawson back in my college days (like 10 years ago)

Good thing m little bro goes to Vanier

Posted by Marcus007 on Sep-13-2006 20:43:

My sister was in class when it happened. She heard shots and when the class started leaving the classroom they saw puddles of blood in the caf.

This is horrible. US is something but Montreal... even with the Polyvalente, I never thought it'd see this day...

Automatic weapons man... that shit is whack...

It's total chaos right now downtown.

Posted by Enjoy on Sep-13-2006 20:46:

so seems there was only 1 shooter

Posted by Marcus007 on Sep-13-2006 20:50:

Bizaree mang... it's all surreal...

Posted by girllovingtvibe on Sep-13-2006 20:50:

thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this...

Posted by fastmp3 on Sep-13-2006 21:30:

the gun debate is now open

Posted by all-nite-freak on Sep-13-2006 21:31:

the metal detectors are next

Posted by Alex on Sep-13-2006 21:32:

errr, gun registry wouldnt help in this case... Cause you arent allowed to own automatic weapons, period.

So he got them from some shitface in Kaniwake, or another reserve, brought up from the USA.

Or bought it on the street, either way, no gun debate.

You're right. Gun registry won't help. If someone wants a gun to commit this kind of cowardly crime, he'll get one. It may become a bit more difficult, but it'll still end up happening.

in many cases its easier to get illegal weapons than legal ones.
AS sad as it is, its an isolated case.Guns or no guns, Montreal will still be a safe city. The guns have always been there...yet this doesnt and won't happen everyday.

just watch the columbine comparisons and cliche shit that will come from this. The media will forget the victims and focus on fear mongering. They are already tripping over themselves reporting watever they can make up at record speeds...pathetic.

I found it interesting how watching the coverage on CTV it was covered in a certain way, talking about how the police/teachers were handling the situation, etc...Then flipping it to CNN the first word mentioned is terrorist. "Could this be considered terrorist activity?" "Is this shooter a terrorist?" Commmmme on...It's some wack loser kid whose been picked on his whole life. Lots of people describing the shooter as goth, black hair, the whole thing. Anyway, supposedly all the victims are looking like they'll be ok...Let's just be thankful no innocent people were killed from this.

I heard he had a mohawk, which would explain why he was so angry

Posted by Dj Nacht on Sep-13-2006 21:46:

Metal Detectors are kinda pointless cause its not like the guy was trying to sneak inside and shit. He went there to kill and no metal detector would have prevented this. Guns are easier to get then people think and I don't know of any way to prevent this. A guy who survived columbine got interviewed and said that if people treated eachother with respect this would never happen. These kind of things can happen anywhere as long as there are assholes bringing people down.

Posted by all-nite-freak on Sep-13-2006 21:51:

its not an afterhours.
metal detectors in institutions come with armed guard(s) manning them

That'll change the debate to whether or not schools want to dedicate the funds to installing metal detectors and paying for armed guards for an isolated incident like this.
