Espanyol - Benfica (even though yesterday's game wasn't that brilliant and Moretto decided to give away a goal, the lousy git) |
My opinion, whoever wins between Seville vs Tottenham will win it all...

AZ Alkmaar - Werder Bremen (0-0)/(1-4)
Bayer Leverkusen - Osasuna (0-3)/(0-1)
Sevilla - Tottenham (2-1)/(2-2)
Espanyol - Benfica (3-2)/(0-0)
Now, semifinals:
Espanyol - Werder Bremen
Osasuna - Sevilla
- Espanyol is unbeaten in UEFA Cup, but I think that Werder is too much.
- If Sevilla plays at 100%, Osasuna is no rival in a 2-leg clash, even knowing the navarres' style, that causes problems to Sevilla.
a werder vs sevilla final sounds pretty damn good imo.

the 'big' bundesliga clubs don't seem to have done well this year. I was disappointed in Schalke, Dortmund & Hamburg
2 balls on the post, one goal missed less than a meter away from the goal line... and Benfica played like shite today. What a surprise.
Oh, yeah, and Espanyol shoud've been awarded a penalty. But let's not say that out loud.
lol hadnt seen the palop goal yet, nice
Poor Spurs.
Every year they have a good team that should go far, but always fall short. Mucho money spent. No silverware yet.
Semifinals, 1st leg
Osasuna 1-0 Sevilla
Espanyol 3-0 Werder Bremen
- Osasuna handled Sevilla. It's midfield ate Sevilla's one, a lot of pressure all around the field, efficient attack, and solid defense.
- The UEFA-unbeaten Espanyol simply erased Werder off the field. 3-0 and "thanks", Werder must say. Espanyol to take this year what was taken in 1988 final.
Semifinals, 2nd leg
Sevilla 2-0 Osasuna
Werder Bremen 1-2 Espanyol
The Final: the Champion (Sevilla) vs the Undefeated (Espanyol).
Espanyol!
meh.. i wanted Bremen-Sevilla
Likewise, thats the final i think everyone wanted to see.
Don't know what happened to bremen tho - i thought they were a sure thing for this cup.
Did they rest players for an important bundesliga game or something.

Well, it was a great final after all.
Espanyol were almost there, but, PKs are PKs...
Palop made some good saves. Gorka should be praised too for his saves in the ET.
Now prepare yourself for the CL Final...
Espanyol put up a lot more than I expected. I felt right sorry for Tamudo having to come off too. Sevilla were probably the better side, although when they missed so many chances (great keeping from gorka) I really thought espanyol would win on pens or something.
here's to next season when hopefully my boys can get to the 1st knockout round again
Looks like I missed a good game.
Highlights showed pretty good goals
sevilla is just a power house at the moment..... they seem to win every game.....
Espanyol played with more heart the entire game, and controlled the game (and had the best chances) until Moiss sent-off (1-1 atm). A pity for them (defeat in PKs, like in 1988).
