edit: common ben, u like him just admit it!

seems to me that this thread has a lot of negative remarks towards djs.

"what about SvD?"
"oh he's into techy trance, he's shit, his work has been off lately blah blah blah"

every dj brings something to the table, if you don't like his style it doesn't mean he's a bad dj. a lot of people don't like tiesto's style, does that make him a bad dj? yohan i honestly dont' know the point of this thread and why you made it. to critisize djs?

I agree with everything........... and yes deep down I am the Andy Moor posterboy

No, to point me towards some producers that still makes good trance. Opinions differ, but I did find some good new tracks from this thread.

If it's just him on the production or as a duo, you can always tell when a sound kicks in on that track that Andy Moor has had something to do with the production... and sadly, it's always the same.

Isn't that good in a way though? It means that his sound is distinctive. You can always recognize his productions because they don't sound like other stuff.. maybe not as much now but definately one or two years ago.

I knew someone was going to post this and yes, you're right, distinctive can be great..... if it's original at the same time. IMO his productions can get repetitive, which isn't out of the norm considering most producers are 'one hit wonders' per say. I know for example guys like Icone, who all his productions sound the same, yet alot of his fans like him for that. Personally, I think it's boring. Take Active for example who has a distinct sound (to an extent) yet if you played a whole set of just his productions it wouldn't be boring nor would it all sound the same. Kind of confusing, I know .

Andy Moor is my #1 for trance. I love his style of xylophone fluffy trance....which is also why I love Niklas Harding...very similar but distinctly different. I just contradicted myself! oh noes!

BTW, EvilTree, I forgot to actually recommend anything. For me me, out of all the recent productions in Trance, there is only one artist that absolutely stands out - The Digital Blonde. Check out his last album "Synthology". Wickedly good stuff.

He is talented like I said, I think he just needs some time off maybe. The Whiteroom remix of Edge of Space was a brilliant club trancer, I think the best thing he's touched since Halycon or the Crayons remix with Leama

I hear where you're coming from but like the others have to disagree. I think that is his trademark sound, and i like knowing when i hear a tune i've never heard before that its his because of that sound. I think he uses it in such a way so that it is identifiable, but then uses the rest of the track to differentiate that tune from another one. Sure there are similar sounds, but all in all i find the tunes themselves to be quite different.

As long as you like it, that's all that matters. Don't let technical bitch haters like me ruin it .

I'm far from giving up on Trance, but thankfully I now have other genres to turn to when I get sick of hearing the same thing in set after set.

When I want to hear music with some authenticity all I have to do is go out to any given club in this city on any given night and listen to that new tribal or electro sound that all the young kids are grooving to these days!

In all seriousness the peaktime trance music that has been coined by the big jocks has lost alot of its creativity for sure. But thats why the best artists in the world appreciate various sounds an incorporate them into their music so that they aren't "trance djs," or "electro djs," just djs.
I'm more just sick of hearing the same djs playing the same stuff, and that stretches to djs in alot of different genres, not just trance. We should focus less on naming the genres and just look for good music, because there are some wikked tunes in house, trance, techno and breaks right now.

Just not jungle.
