Last time I've heard him he was playing the same stuff as the last time I've seen before that which was a couple months ago. In terms of music collection, I'd say hes been really slacking off. Addy can be an international DJ any day but thats totally up to him which I'm sure hes aware of it as well. Definite maestro behind the decks although I've still yet to see him on three.

Originally posted by chikaladka Seriously, and I've said it once and will say it once again.. His set at The Docks totally killed my entire (amazing!) party weekend, and it takes a lot to do that and he did..After hearing him a few times afterwards when he opened or closed for DJs, I concluded that skill wise he's very talented and daring - he keep fucking around with the mixer and kind of makes his own music really.. but that does not mean it's good, I think it's way too fast too, and his track selection is usually crap. Anyways he's not for me and like someone else mentioned he would never be the reason I'd go to a club, he would definitely be the reason I'd leave one.

Originally posted by RobSt*r IMO, we have WAY better local talent than Addy......VERY VERY TRUE!!! Who do I like you ask? IMO, Miss Blu, and Simon jain are amoung the best local DJ's Ive seen in a LONG fucking time based on technical skill, track selection, and the way they can take you on a journy through the night. When you combine all three of these catigories, and even if all three arent a high score individually, when brought together with a high average, that makes them top notch in my books. my 2 cents
easy with the caps....i could barely read that

I think, for the most part, the handful of DJ's that make up the Toronto club circuit are happy just playing the local scene. Don't get me wrong, more than half of them couldn't mix a salad let alone put a clean set together, but for what they are doing, they do their job well. They're not out to bang out some over the top production, introduce new music and sounds, or even break out internationally. They play the tracks that people want to hear and usually to a crowd that isn't that involved or interested in the scene, but just want to party and get wasted. I think alot of us are assuming that the majority of people are going out to hear fresh music and really good DJ'ing skills, because honestly I'd say it's only about 25% that are. With the likes of Greg, Sean, Luke, Brad and even Nathan as of late...these are the guys that, in my opinion, are the only ones with true passion for music and the scene in Toronto...it's extremely rare to hear any of them play a duplicate set (give or take a few tracks) from the last time you heard them.

along the lines of what breen is saying,
we wonder why a dj plays very diffent here when we see them as compared to what we know them for.
reason being, they are told what they should spin based on what the promoter/club says the TO people like.
stanton warriors is the most recent example where i was personally told that they were told what to play as the "scene" is this way here and thats the only way to please us.
then we wonder why the TO scene is so far behind

as long as there are ppl posting on the boards that Sydney Blu or Jelo are best djs in the world... as long as the photographers care more about capturing fake tits than the actual atmosphere and crazyness on the dancefloor...

Originally posted by ELeCtRo_FuNk2k5 I'm saying that it's the people who run these clubs that make the scene the way it is.....NOT CARING about new TUNES, about technical skill, etc.....and that is why TORONTO is so far behind with our scene. IT SUCKS compared to alot of other cities

To all who had negative things to say about Addy:
It's very stupid how u like to trash him and most of the other local djs when you probably go out to places(and there aren't many) where they are spinning and you probably have been there more than a few times and have enjoyed your night out. I agree with one of the comments earlier where pple post shit when they don't even understand how it all works...Whatever all I know is that we have a lot of pple here who post shit only b/c they have nothing else to do...N/Eway I support Addy all the way and all the other local djs...I have to say that they have never let me down!
p.s. After listening to a lot of other international djs' sets I remember saying to Manzone: "Fuck all these international djs, it's all about u guys"...............
