what i loved earlier was that they switched to Washington for a quick briefing about what happened in NYC and when the speaker started talking, he was talking about a complete different topic in another state! How fitting...to see that NYC was once again overlooked.

but the poor neighborhood. i feel for everyone who lives around there

It's kinda sad I thought the same thing, and I'm the optimist. The Republicans are breathing a sigh of relief for this distraction. Bonus, they can claim they're doing something to make us "safer" by dispatching fighter planes to patrol other cities.

Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle may be connected

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Oct-11-2006 20:51:

now they are saying possibly FOUR fatalities...the planes a four seater

speculation still

and there may have been another member from the Yankees organization on the plane registered to Corey Lidle

It should have been overlooked. This is not national news, especially with all the other shit going on in the nation/world the past few weeks.

Cory Lidle is believed to be dead right now. Not necessarily piloting the planes.

lol nobody escapes the wrath of GhB. Not even me!

But he does have a point. The only reason this is making headline news is because it's NYC and someone dropped the word "terrorism" even if the sentence is "the White House has told CNN that they have no indication that the crash is related to terrorism."

WOW it is sooo screwy that a Yankee was in that plan.... what a sad day (well it was sad no matter what but you know what I mean!)

Posted by Shamez214 on Oct-11-2006 21:18:

Now THAT's weird.

Posted by barosoap on Oct-11-2006 21:28:

Now the question people will be asking is, "Would this have happened if the Yankees hadn't been eliminated from the playoffs?"

Posted by OutofAnalog on Oct-11-2006 21:34:

wow... my brother in-law was 5 blocks away when it happened... he didn't see the plane crash but he said it was crazy around there afterward.

I think other teams should be forced to play, but lose in the future to prevent this sort of tragedy.

You know what, I was on the train coming home from work and I remember I think it was on Monday, but on Mike and the Mad Dog's radio show, both Mike and the Mad Dog was highly criticizing the Yankees down to the point of individual players, Cory was mentioned and I remember hearing Cory call in saying he wanted to defend himself. Also remember Mike and the Mad Dog criticizing Cory real heavily while he was on the phone with them...

Really really sad

Why does this incident make any difference, unless you're planning to quit flying completely now?

Do you react the same way when there's a car accident?
