-- Who lies more: Men or Women?

boys lie.

men do not.

girls lie.

women lie.

therefore under that logic, females would lie more, but not all males who reach sexual maturity become men. So it's all fluxed up.

this poll is very accurate

I'm sure there's an equal amount of lying done by both sexes. However I think that women are generally more dishonest.

What I've noticed is that women tend to be more emotional and concerned with not hurting people's feelings, also, more concerned with being liked by everyone. Otherwise known as being IRRATIONAL, lol.

I've seen it numerous times. Some chick gets herself involved a situation where she doesn't realize it's OK to be honest (as long as she employs tact), and gets herself caught up in a web of ridiculous lies.

I don't think there's any malicious intent...it's just that most women can't think about things in a simple, logical manner.

I'm glad I'm a robot.

Probably the biggest problem with lying.

You lie, then you have to make up a lie to cover up that lie and so it goes on.
Then you have so many lies to keep track of and when you loose track of one lie, it comes to bite you in the ass hard.

Better to tell the truth. At least you can deal with its consequences quickly instead of just dragging it on like lies would. (not to mention the issue of respect and trust involved with lying)

Men Lie. So do Women.

Men get caught more often.

Posted by Kytracid on Nov-09-2006 05:59:

Rasta

Men don't lie...we just don't tell women the 'whole' truth.

As an example:

Jill: Where were you last night ?

Jack: Had some work to finish off at the office (half-true )

Full Story: The 'work' involved pumping the secretary for hours of passionate, unruly do-it-on-the-table sex.

Jack didn't lie. He simply neglected to mention part of the truth. More specifically, the part he knew, would land him in hot water with Jill.

I think men feel compelled to lie because women are such good interrogators. Look into your woman's eyes the next time she asks you one of those probing questions about what you were up to when you weren't with her. Fella's, you probably know the look I'm talking about - it's that investigative look which says "I don't believe a word you're saying mother******!"...

Men spot that look and panic, and when we panic we usually start spewing bullshit, and so one lie about drinking an extra hour with your buddies, or talking to that cute chick in economics class turns into a full fledged story that now needs to get committed to memory lest you get interrogated in the future and fuck up on the details.

Women constantly test men on all sorts of things, and sometimes I think it's just easier telling the girl what you think she wants to hear, even if it is a lie or half of the truth.

But then women lie too, and from my experience, women will be more duplicitous about their lies. Maybe a woman's intuition plays a role in making them more effective liars cause I've met some who could rattle of an entire episode that they just created on the spot and you wouldn't be the wiser for it. Personally, I find it difficult to read the physical cues when a woman lies to me...then again, maybe it's cause half the time I'm staring at her breasts, and not her eyes. That might actually explain a few other things as well. Like not hearing parts of the conversation, or remembering when her birthday is, or what her Dad looks like...

So in closing, I'll reiterate what i've been saying all along. Men don't lie. We simply tickle the truth. We embellish and exaggerate for effect and subjectively select and describe events that have transpired. We do this, because we love you, we care about you and we want to protect you from the ugly side of truth. It's not about saving our ass, it's about safeguarding your hearts.

...it's also about knowing that no matter who the woman is, the universal law regarding the female sex and the truth never changes. Men have known it for years, and now it's time the TOTA women did as well. So here it is girls.

The Universal Law of telling the Truth to your Woman - as understood by Man :

DON'T DO IT DUMBASS !!!
BITCHES CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH !!!
DANGER !!! ABORT !!! DANGER !!!
ABORT !!! DANGER !!! ABORT !!!

I voted women simply out of personal experience, but I'd say its pretty damn even alltogether, and it'd be hard to measure which lies more. We all do. Having said that, I find, again from my own experience, that women can't handle the truth, or maybe guys are too cowardly to face a shit-storm they know is comming if they tell the truth...

(and this reminds me of a funny quote i read the other day... "Can you imagine a world without men? No crime and lots of happy fat women")

Maybe all my life I was told that telling a lie was telling the un-true, but now I found out that a lie is wearing a push-up bra the things you find out on TA..

edit: and what lies do they tell their friends?? if they tell lies then they are not friends.. anyways i need to stop being os emotional

Is it not lying when you make your boobs look bigger than they actually are? If your usally a B, and you make them look like they are atleast a C, thats somewhat of a lie.

Or what if your naturally butt ugly. and you put makeup on, and do all this crap to make yourself look somewhat presentable. That clearly is a lie as your lying about the fact that your ugly!

I'm not saying this is everyone, more just the younger generation. And girls like to girls all the time. I know so many girls who pretend to be friends, or all "HIIIIIIIIIIIII HOOWWW ARE YOUUUU!!!" when they honestly dislike each other.

But yeah, it also depends on the ages of the individuals. I'd say its a fair split between men/women for the older generation (30+)

This is such an awful stereotype. It's got nothing to do with me being more "appealing" towards men. I don't want to be a fattie, I don't want to have HEALTH PROBLEMS. This has nothing to do with men. So apparently women never go around causing drama resorting it into violence? hmmmm.

Whoever made that quote will have to resort to some average lady punching the person in the face.

I'm surprised more women aren't jumping on this one. I think women take pride in their appearance, and even though being presentable to the opposite sex may be a factor, somehow I doubt it to be the driving force behind make-up, push up bras, etc, but I could be wrong

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-09-2006 18:18:

Something I've noticed from this thread is that a lot of you must have had REALLY bad experiences with the opposite sex. Yikes.

that's going to be obvious from this forum because it's mostly guys who are going to vote for girls.

I can't really comment as I hardly wear make-up or bras. Don't need either of them.

I voted men, just based on personal experience with my boyfriend. He has lied to me quite a bit, little lies, but nontheless lies. I have only lied ONCE in 3 years to my boyfriend. It was on an issue, that I needed to lie, then later, when I knew I could trust him, I voluntarily told him the truth.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-09-2006 18:52:

I don't think it's correct to form an opinion about the general population based on an experience with just ONE person.

Besides that fact that if someone lies to you, and you allow it to keep happening...you're partially to blame for that behaviour by being an enabler.

I think it's stupid to complain about someone lying to you when you've chosen to do nothing about it.

I would never maintain a relationship with a friend/boyfriend who lied to me all the time, little lies or not. I'm always honest and I expect and demand the same of the people I surround myself with.

Posted by Ashley on Nov-09-2006 19:05:

Okay, forget my boyfriend, I still believe that men lie more than women do. Regardless of my opionion, I am intitled to one, which is I think men lie more then women do.

I am not going to break up with my boyfriend over a simple lie, that was told, not to hurt me, but most of the times to not upset me.

For example, he talks to a girl, I'm like who was that, oh nobody, just a friend of a friend...later it comes out that he dated that girl for a short period of time. I'm not going to get physco and break up with him over something like that. That is basically the extent of the lie.
