MVP: Mauer > Santana > Nathan > Morneau

Jeter over all!

I think this was Jeters only shot to win it really.

Gary Matthews signs with the Angels

story here

. wow! 5 years, $50 million ? is he really worth that much ?

Posted by Member of X on Nov-22-2006 20:59:

Absolutely not. Awesome defensively but he's had like one good season hitting. Plus, he's 32 years old, he isn't a spring chicken so 5 years seems a bit steep. This market is crazy.

Outrageous... I think Juan Pierre is LOADS better than he is...

gotta love the MLB...

If you have a MEDIOCRE season the last year of your contract, you'll CASH in!

unreal...

Posted by Member of X on Nov-22-2006 21:47:

I'm not a big fan of Juan Pierre, his OB % is atrocious for a supposed top leadoff hitter. Not like he's a gold glover either.

exactly, the least the Yanks could have done was outbid the sox, and take all the attention they're getting... and just not made him a contract offer...lol.... and just get 30 days of attention whoring without spending a dollar!!!

I think the Yankees honestly thought their 35 million would blow everyone else out of the water. Ah well fuck it.

And Jeter not winning the MVP was fucking STUPID! I'm a Canadian and I know Morneau is a great player but Jeter was by far the best player last year overall. He is a victim of a VERY OBVIOUS anti-Yankee bias in the media. AROD winning it last year doesn't help either.

Jeter is going to the HOF anyway but a desserved MVP this year would have made his career even better.

Astros sign Carlos Lee, for 6 years, $100 million
and also Woody Williams

speaking of Juan Pierre, Dodgers sign him, for 5 years, around $45 million

It appears that BoSox are finalizing a 5-year, $70 M deal with JD Drew

ROFL

I'm gonna piss myself if that happens. Drew averages 112 games a year and he's known to be weak mentally. We'll see how he holds up there in Boston. Then they'll trade Manny, the Yankee killer, and Ortiz protector. I also hear Julio Lugo to Boston. That would be downright awesome too. For Yankee fans it's like subtraction by addition. haha

Yankees won the rights to negociate with japanese pitcher Kei Igawa for a bargain rate of 26 million....

ONLY way fans accept this BULLSHIT deal.... is if they KEEP Manny... if they trade Manny, he'll NEVER be liked in this town, only if he puts up Pujols numbers, which he won't, because its fucking JD DREW... so he's screwed....

Sox are desperate... its too bad... but I could care less... go Pats!!!

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Dec-01-2006 00:45:

I think J.D Drew in his career has only 2 injury free seasons, way too much money for what he brings to the table. They should try and deal for Vernon Wells.I just hope the sox aren't just signing Drew to help grease the deal with the japanese pitcher who is also a scott boras client

Posted by King Ecnal on Dec-01-2006 06:53:

Sox sign Hideki Okajima... cheap money though, nothing CRAZY like 70 million for a washed up loser...

Theo is going crazy for the jap's... should just get it over and bring back NOMO... cause I feel sick...

Gil Meche - 5 years, $55 million, by the Royals, of all teams

Octavio Dotel also signs with the Royals, turning down an offer from the Red Sox

Barroid returns to the Giants, with a 1-year deal

WTF!?!??!

The Royals care???

honestly, I like Gil Meche, sad to see him go to KC... I honestly wanted to see the Sox sign him, I really hate Matt Clement...

Posted by Member of X on Dec-08-2006 05:05:

By the way FUCK YOU Barroid! Please go away you piece of shit!

16 million? Please

I can't believe the Mariners traded Rafael Soriano, a great young closer prospect, to the Braves for some scrap Horacio Ramirez. God they're stupid!

I wonder what Zito will end up getting. Probably over $15 million a year, maybe close to $20 million.

I keep thinking it's gonna be the Mets. I've been hearing 6 years for like 100 million. Insane!

He's an OK third starter but his stats will look much better in the NL. Last 4 years has seen his K's drop and walks increase, the worst sign for a pitcher. In the AL he's a 3.8 ERA guy, NL he could get like a 3.2 or something. Personally, he's way overpriced, but that's the market. Gil Meche for 55 million?

Posted by King Ecnal on Dec-08-2006 06:31:

Zito doesn't get HURT... he'd be a good fit on the Mets with mr. Injury... I mean Pedro...

Posted by partyhopper on Dec-13-2006 18:17:

Dice-K flying to Boston

The reported terms that I see on metsblog.com are: 6 years, $9M, with performance incentives which could get him up to $11-12M per year.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Dec-22-2006 01:28:

so apparently, the Brewers are interested in reigning World Series MVP Jeff Suppan. They are offering him a 4 year contract.
