Yup, you're totally right on that count. I went anyways though because if history is any indication, I can get over the flaws of the night and have a good time when Barbara is playing.

Oh well! I didn't want to base my boycott of the place on people's Sander K reviews, I had to go validate for myself!

If she's going to play sonic in the new year, I really have no compelling reason to go there anymore anyways.

sounds like an 10/10 night compared to last week

Everyone help me get Lee Burridge to SONIC as well. I'm definitely not going to TiL to see him there after seeing Carl Cox at TiL on a Wednesday. That place did not do the Carl any justice. CASE CLOSED!!!

I've had great nights there, love the space and the dj lineups... My only real problem with the place is the stereo.

The ones from last week about Sander and the crowd? I didn't expect anything less, I went full well knowing it would be a circus.

I'm glad Sarah shared her viewpoints, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with all of them. I don't understand the connection between Barbara only playing for 90 mins and the club. I'd be more pissed off with her personally...

I don't understand why the bouncers would move Sarah around the club? Why would they do that? What's up their ass. I'd be pissed off too...

The crowd was gagging for it that night, Carl disapointed.

Yeah if I wanted to hear the music he played that night, I could have just gone to any one of the places the locals play. Ah well, I didn't pay cover, so it was a fun night out!

I remember your review of the night was stellar as Orko mentioned. LOL Anyway, I just wished Carl played the killer techno set he layed out for the lucky Montreal crowd at STEREO the following night.

It was more part of my general rant
In any case...90 minutes is a weak attempt, whoever's idea it was!

90 mins, thats not a set, period....its a teaser

sets that long are for openers, space fillers, but not for headliners, cmon!

i really wanted to see MB last nite...i guess ill have to wait for her next venue....and i hope she goes to a more appropriate place

I dont know why pple keep complaining about her changing styles etc etc..

if u never heard her previous music, and she was a new dj on the block, im sure you would enjoy her music. I have some old and new sets...both styles are great IMO..

Sorry to hear about your night, Sarah.

Down with TiL.

how would you know people's taste in music?

Sorry to here you experienced such a bad night. As for This is London, I've been going quite regularly for 9 months and am no longer, for pretty much the same reasons. Great DJs that have played there have been nothing but disappointing, to say the least. This is not a reflection of the DJ as I've experienced them at different locations and they were phenominal. It is a beautiful club, maybe too so, attracting the possers and not allowing the true music devotees to show there enthousiasm encouraging the DJ to feel the crowd.

I don't think I will ever step foot in This is London again.

you all complain about how people at TIL are not true music lovers but everyone was a noob once. people have to start out somewhere. TIL is exposing our music to a different crowd and, as much as many of you hate it, i dont see it as a bad thing. that just means the scene in toronto is growing.

as for misstress barbara's set, i enjoyed it last night. she got a little fluffy at some points in the night but the majority of the set was enjoyable. better than the last time i saw her at system soundbar.

I agree that what the bouncers did you to you was completely unacceptable. I fucking hate when bouncers touch me when I haven't done anything wrong.

That said, I don't really think that what happened to you warrants a "Fuck you TiL" thread like this. You're overreacting a bit I think. (yes I know I over reacted much like you did a couple of months ago )

bouncers should not be touching you unless you are threatening them somehow. i would be pissed too if a bouncer did that to me but i do feel that you are overreacting slightly.

With what Misstress Barbara plays now its probably the only saving grace from Sarah's ordeal. Imagine having to listen to 3 hours of what she calls music now? Sarah made me do that last year for her birthday at Stereo....talk about taking one for the team.

As much as you try to get as close to the women in the bar as humanly possible, I still don't think you quite appreciate what it is like to go out and feel like guys are just way too close for comfort. After having some dude grab me by the neck to talk to me I just got way too annoyed with bouncers adding to that when I was doing absolutely nothing wrong. When not much else is going right with the night, and you are there by yourself, all signs point to the exit.

I think I'm actually going to send my initial post to someone at TIL, for shits and giggles.

let it gooooooooo....

It could not have been any worse than that night you encouraged me to go to Fly to hear Sydney Blu.

Ive never seen a dj have to deal with so many bad venues in toronto than misstress barbara. i thought things were good with her other show at TIL, but it looks like (once again) she got the short end.
