anyone see Angello's set? Was good for what I was there for. Austin Leeds and whatshisface were garbage. Great producers...but wow did they suck. Their mixing was far from tight, and I know I heard a wreck in there. Sanchez was great as always, but I get tired of hearing the same shit over and over sometimes....I feel like he can really be behind as far as new shit coming out goes....I dont know how much longer I can stand hearing him play "watch the sunrise". Christ. Edgar V rocked it, as always, and for the portion of George Acostas set that I was there for, it sounded great. I was bored with tiesto...whatever. He definetly has a new style going on, and i'm not so sure I like it....but when he played that Chasing Cars remix... . All in all though, daft punk blew me away. There's nothing more to it. Fuck RITM, Daft Punk was by far the best live performance i've ever seen in my life. Anyone know what equipment they use for their performances? I've heard they play a lot of their tracks live, but for some of the crazy shit they did, I don't know how it would be possible without Ableton's Live or something....either way....obey the pyramid

oh and that whole thing about that being their last show? Bullshit. Rumor. The Miami Herald talked about that on Friday, some reported said that one of the Daft Punk members stated that it was their last show bla bla bla. But when the reporter was asked for some sort of source or hardcopy source, he was like...erm...yeah...about that...aparently it was just their last show of 2006....and look for a daft punk live dvd to be coming out in the very near future.

they also recently made a movie I hear?!?! Gotta find out about that shit.

I was wondering for all 11 hours it took me to drive home how the hell they did it if it was live!

no no, not talking about that. This is a live action movie with them in it, directed by them, with no music by them. Called Electomina or something weird. Saw a 60 second trailer, shits weird as hell!

Posted by FeedMeBeats on Nov-14-2006 23:51:

I think i know what you are talking about. It's a movie, cant seem to find via google. There is also a series of videos compiled and directed by Francis Ford Coppola husband that has a dog on the cover..... Pretty cool shit

Yeah I heard it from a distance, there was something lacking. Markus was the place to be

I walked through the trance stage to get to Angello. It sounded like Markus was playing a nice set. High energy. I should of just stayed rather than going to Angello. I broke my digital camera at Angello so I didn't get to take any pictures the whole time.

I just read all the post and mostly everything gets covered without my input what so ever. Show was insane...don't know if I agree about the Tiesto comments but with out a doubt Daft Punk stole the show. Only one major issue, can we PLEASE stop allowing whistles...nothing worse than in the middle of an awesome set some idiot behind you, who cant for the life of them keep rhythm, insists on blowing a loud obnoxious whistle. Need to bring it, fine....next time I'm just gona grab it and throw it into the crowd.

man, I sound synical cynical! anyway great time, miss miami already

Blow my whistle bitch.

How ya doin' Abby?

Yep, Tom De Neef rocked. When he mixed into Daft Punk - Around the World that place went nutty.

Daft Punk of course stole the show, Tiesto on the other hand was aweful. If that was his A Game, than I've lost all hope in humanity.

Yes it was the same set as Coachella, but DP did polish it up a little bit since then. Just seeing them live was more than worth the flight from Minneapolis.

What more can be said, Bang '06 was fan-fuckin'-tastic.

P.S. If the e-tard princess with the whistle reads this, I owe you a curb sandwich.

Posted by trance4lifer on Nov-16-2006 03:35:

So, like almost everyone else that posted, my highlites of Bang would definately be Daft Punk, Tiesto, and Markus. And I also enjoyed Filo & Peri and Christopher Lawrence (from what I heard). But before Bang I never really knew much about Daft Punk's live shows I only knew their music. I was extremely impressed with their show. Is it true that they never do live shows? Or how can you find out if they are ever gonna do one again? I hope this wasn't a once in a lifetime experience!

i wouldnt say that was tiesto's A-game, the first half hour was pretty hap hazard, but the guy rocked it the rest of the show. im really interested to see what some of you englightened souls think is an "A-game". and fyi, its nice to see thats its still "en vogue" to tiesto hate. your just too cool for school to say the show was aweful, must mean u left after the first 20 minutes or your just a misguided hater. again im not saying that it was the best outdoor set ive ever seen, but it was pretty damn fun.

daft punk was cool, but it was more all the auxilliary stuff that went with the show that i thought was cool(er), ie the stage, the goggles, etc. personally music wise the energy was a step down from tiesto, but pretty damn good and funky. but then again what do i know, im a tiesto whore turned househead that is still a tiesto whore, so my opinion is obviously slanted. and plaese go lose hope in humanity nobody cares.

Posted by epdarks on Nov-16-2006 04:04:

To be fair, cmay, habs and I only saw the first 30 min at most of Tiesto. We gave up on him early. Wish we would have stuck around. I have seen him in his A game, he rocks it, we all agree, we're not too cool for school.

To say the energy went down after Tiesto is a personal opinion. IMO DP was the most energizing set I've ever heard.

Good times though. When you're there it seems like it will last forever. Then its over and you ask yourself... where did the day go? Don't you hate that feeling?
