$15 to get into a mega club WITH guest djs to a place that usually allows unlimited picture taking and yet people still bitch.

Imagine you had to pay $50 cover with no pictures allowed ever and 10 times more people in the same space. Welcome to the rest of the world.

Yes agreed though that the security probably needs a lesson in PR but the picture taking ban is a rarity in toronto when its very common elsewhere.

LOL!!

having said what i just said.. clubs with photo bans usually allow their in house cameramen to do the honours. So it sucks that shaya and chinamon couldnt do their jobs. And im sure thats not guv's fault

good thing I didn't take off my jacket to show my paparazzi shirt!LOL!

I would've been SHOT DEAD!

so many of us were tellin' the V.J to put on his pamela porno to get his reaction!

btw his own camera man had to try several shots to get one take! with thousands of dollars worth of equipment and YET not having a fuckin' clue as to how to do an action shot inside a club...

I was surprised when I learned you can take pics in the guv.....usually clubs with such extensive lighting don't allow pictures to be taken, I know the clubs in Taiwan definitely don't allow it because the flashes would ruin the atmosphere.

In all honesty though....how many of the general population that goes to guv would pay attention to a "no picture" rule on the flyer? Do they all even look at flyers for the night?

Yea.. I was there, I saw it, and i think that Tommy boi was pretending to spin. It was pretty bad, so I stayed at the Gallery.

i'm just wondering, is there a reason why they dont allow cameras at "most" clubs in europe etc?
why is such rule in place?

I asked one of the managers at Ministry of Sound Taipei about this since they are very strict with their camera rules and he said because if there are a high amount of flashes it does interfere with the lighting and takes away from the vibe the club is trying to set.

It makes sense to me, if a club spends millions of dollars on an extensive amount of lighting and it's ruined by thousands of clubbers cameras (yes some countries alot of people would take cameras in and take pictures of everything)...kind of ruins the point of installing all the lighting, doesn't it?

I remember going to Stereo in Montreal and you had to check your camera at the door. Even Miami a few years ago had a no cameras rule. I've always had a good experience with the bouncers at guv and think they do a much better job than most the clubs in toronto. Twice I've had the bouncers literally move traffic and escort me to get somewhere I had to be when I explained the situation to them...Hats off to them and I'm sorry you guys had a bad experience.

ehhh...

Deko-ze owns supreme!!!
Aero played some good tunes and Tommy Lee was the comic relief.

The crowd was utter garbage, except ofcourse for Pett and Carney!!
awesome seeing you guys again after so long.

I had no idea bout that no camera rule untill now and am quite amused. He came, he sucked, don't bring him back.

Simple yes?

The truth is that they dont want the media to access the club so that the images can be used against them in the public realm. They dont want any 20/20 barbara walter's rave specials happening in their venues LOL

I'm sure that has a part to play in it....but why would guv allow cameras then? The media in Taiwan doesn't go into clubs and do rave specials unless some violent incident occurs at a club....and barbara walters certainly isnt going to be going there.
