well. i tried that and i get an access denied message when i execute the command. and yes, i logged in as Admin with the right password. bah.

ok, so i added the ntldr file, and ntdetect.

apparently, a couple more vital files were renamed, such as hal.dll in windows/system32/

this is proving quite difficult.

ive decided to plug the hard drive into this computer, and copy the files. the repair console proves everything is there, albeit renamed.

i need some sort of software that can recognize a filetype without needing an extension. anyone care to help with that? further more, as someone suggested, a program that can rename mp3s based on their ID tags. one hell of a rename session awaits me.
